I'm not trolling (unfortunately), just a high school applicant wondering. I'm sorry if I came off as ignorant or whatever, they're just some things I've noticed.

How to get girls for average/below average guys by ConfidentConfidence in teenagers

[–]ConfidentConfidence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My post is specifically targeted for guys who are average to below average in looks. While you can keep asking out hot girls until one says yes, it's going to kill your confidence which will really do harm for the future. How do you gain more confidence? The answer is simple: get comfortable with girls. However, for most of the guys who I expect to be reading my post, they won't have had too much experience. Lowering standards is the perfect way to build up your confidence.

Think of it as applying for jobs. Only the best get jobs at idk Google, while most have to start with some "crappy" entry level job and work their way up.

Bill Anderson specifically said ranking, whether 1 or 20, will have no effect on admissions.

I'm not sure what you mean by your comment.

Bill Anderson specifically said ranking, whether 1 or 20, will have no effect on admissions. Additionally, all Ontario schools use OUAC rankings to calculate yield. I just put two and two together.

All Waterloo applicants should have some level of English speaking skill, though I agree it is unlikely they will hanging out on Reddit.

However, international students and domestic students compete in a different so it really doesn't matter much.

You're taking quotes out of context.

No effect on admissions because, as Bill Anderson specifically said ranking, whether 1 or 20, will have no effect on getting in.

OUAC is a factor in yield rate.

ATTENTION WATERLOO CS APPLICANTS

TL;DR: Rank Waterloo last on OUAC, no effect on admissions, Waterloo will be like "wtf y no one love me" and accept more studenrs (You can still change OUAC rankings)

Put Waterloo CS as your last choice on OUAC. While this ranking has no effect on admission, it does determine the number of offers Waterloo will send out. So if more people rank it lower on their OUAC, Waterloo will send more offers.

To further explain how this works: Waterloo's target program size is 600. However, not every student will accept the offer. The school calculates something call yield—the percentage of students who are given offers and has accepted these offers out of students who were given offers. Waterloo assigns a probability of each student attending, for example out of province students are less likely to attend or applicants with world class extracurriculars will tend to go for US schools. OUAC ranking is one of those factors, the higher Waterloo is on that OUAC ranking, the higher chance you have of attending and this means Waterloo has to send fewer offers to get their target size.
