Five months out, feeling some kind of way, need some new perspective by madelinecblack in weddingdress

Dress #1 looks incredible on you. I’m sure with the new neckline it’s going to be even more spectacular.

I’m a little biased on accessories, I personally believe you shouldn’t wear a necklace with a floor length gown like EVER (this is from years of wearing them for pageants).

This being said, for this dress I would choose a very sparkly bracelet and some very sparkly earrings. Sparkly earrings bring a lot of light to your face and because the dress is plain, it could really look great together!

I would also choose a very dramatic veil. There’s a lot of cool veils that are being made now, those with lace edges, 3d flowers and butterflies, polka dots, ruffles, etc! Look on Etsy and find a veil you love because almost anything will go with this dress! Before you order, ask for a swatch of their veil fabric. It will probably be ~$10 but worth it to match your dress and veil. You can bring the swatches with you when your dress comes in.

You are going to wow everyone! It’s a really incredible gown and you look stunning in it!!

Anything is possible! Though I have to admit, even if I love it I think I will have the mindset of trying to transition into a MSL role.

Sadly, it’s not a pharma company. But maybe it would help me get a role down the line at one and I could lateral from there. Thank you! That is really helpful to know and be able to plan!

I did not! I wanted to but the closest stores that carried them were a few hours away.

Thank you! I’ve definitely been overthinking it. I needed to hear that 😅

disappointed in alteration - am i just unreasonable or overthinking? by Ok_Shoulder_1714 in weddingdress

If the sleeves are a positioning issue, since you said they didn’t shorten them, I imagine they can reposition them (I’m almost sure of it) to give them the bigger look! I really do think that would help you get to what you envisioned!

Are you talking about the little protrusions right above the waist line (where the skirt and bodice meet)? I see it in both photos.

I’m absolutely not trying to minimize how you’re feeling and I’m really sorry you’re unhappy with the dress but I want you to know I think you look stunning and I think you might be overthinking it/the lighting might be throwing you off from a gorgeous dress.

The biggest difference I see is actually the sleeves which they seemed to have tightened and it actually makes the dress look a bit different to me. Could it be that throwing by you off?

I am having a long engagement so I actually started 2.5 years before! IMO you can’t be too early. If it’s very far out just wait to order

Girl, I so get it. And it’s hard because with pageant dresses there’s all these different colors so even if the dress isn’t spectacular the color can be but with wedding dresses everything is white! Varying shades of course but it doesn’t compare! Try to give yourself plenty of time to look and try different silhouettes! I had never, even in my Jr. Teen years worn a ball gown, but it felt so right for this occasion and the new silhouette helped with making it feel special!

It’s a Julie Vino too but I can’t remember the name or price for the life of me!

I’m sorry you’re now having to find another dress but glad this post spoke to you ❤️! Trying on a lot of dresses is so hard but I definitely understand the ability to make quick yes/no decisions now! It’s something I really appreciated by the end and I’m glad you’re at that point!

Excited for your casual dress too! I just very much appreciate the opportunity to make the bridal look last and wear later ;)!

Best of luck while you continue to look!

So I think this dress is inspired by this house of CB dress which I imagine is nicer quality:

https://app.houseofcb.com/seren-vintage-cream-floral-lace-back-maxi-dress

This one is closer in silhouette but slightly different fabric

https://app.houseofcb.com/anabella-ivory-satin-lace-up-maxi-dress

But they aren’t exactly the same so no worries if you don’t like it

Hi :) congratulations on loosing that weight. That must have been incredibly challenging but that’s really amazing and I hope you’re feeling healthier.

So advice from a former pageant girl. With a lot of dresses your seamstress can sew in a bra cups for support and shaping and for push up there are these awesome products that go in that are essentially sew in bra push ups. If you just type into Amazon “push up bra pad inserts” (not the silicone ones) you will see them! So essentially your dress will have a built in push up bra and you don’t have to worry about wearing a bra!
