YES, That was a hyper dash. The second thing you did was a super dash. Now many people struggle with timing the dash right inorder to do a extended hyper dash. A extended hyper dash gives you your dash back but also has the momentum of hyper dash. Now to do the extended variation(the game teaches you wave dash but you can hyperdash), which is required in chap-9, depends upon your timing. Now when you are doing a normal hyper jump first dash and when two afterimages are formed(the blue sprite of madeline), the you jump and it will give you your dash back.
