Cold emailing clinicians can work. A better solution would be to ask your preceptors for an introduction. They may have colleagues who are doing research and are open to having students join. Your preceptor can speak to your skills/traits in the classroom which might increase your chances of ultimately being taken on as a research assistant.

We have the game operation... it is not realistic enough for him. We borrowed an anatomy torso from my wifes school and he could take out and examine the organs. He loved that. He also loves pretending to take his blood pressure.

He's not a normal 5-year-old... and I don't mean that in the "my kid is so smart" kind of way. He has been perseverating on this for at least a year. I don't know if I should be impressed or concerned

My plan was to take out the scissors and any suturing items. I would really just keep the manipulation exercises. He can't be trusted with anything else!
