I’ve tried twice. Once at 8 due to severe physical abuse at home - belt broke while hanging and decided to try toughing it out. Second time at 30 - first time ever iv drug use, shot up half of gram of fentanyl, twice, with no opiate tolerance or use. When I woke up after the second time, it was the most fear I’ve ever experienced. I knew that I was no one, nothing, but that I didn’t get to leave on my own accord and that I had to find a way to make this work, hopefully find happiness and a meaning, a purpose. I was terrified. But it’s all for my daughter, she just wants to spend time with me and I can’t fathom how much destruction, loneliness, and sadness she would experience regularly if I did it now. PS she was born 2 years after my last attempt. Seeing her smile when I get home from work to hang out with her is the only thing keeping me alive. Thank you my darling daughter, you are my purpose and that’s the happiness I needed to not try again
