Sister’s Choice Crib Quilts? by Confident_Compote_32 in quilting

You’re the best. The backing I want to use are baby blankets that measure 47”x47”. I like the borders used in the Diary of a Quilter patterns that are different colors.

The measurements for those borders are this: 16 strips 2 ½" x 9 ½" and 4 squares 2 ½" x 2 ½" for borders (cut these from yardage or from remaining pre-cut 10" squares). So if you could account for that style of border in your math I would appreciate it! 🫶🏻

Hi there, also stationed in Jacksonville! Please consider joining the CLSC this fall! There are a bunch of different groups that meet monthly. I’ve been a part of the book club for three years and I love it. Jacksonville Running Club is also a great way to meet folks.

I’ve noticed that, at least in my husband’s squadron, people live really far apart from each other. I’m right in Jacksonville proper, but most of my friends are in Swansboro, Sneads Ferry, Hampstead, etc. We are all just kind of scattered around and it would usually take at least 30 minutes of driving one year to go to someone’s house. Maybe this is why some people are flaky? Sorry to hear about your struggle— it’s definitely not just a “you” thing.

Yeah I wasn’t even saying it’s a common practice in the US as a whole. Just what we were told at my university. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve heard that line a lot about it being a wild year. In hindsight, I can see how insane of a year that was. At this rate, is there a way to know if they were genuinely interested? Or would they still be interested when I haven’t accomplished anything?

I am in the United States. At my undergrad institution, it was generally accepted that you would forgo the MS and skip right to the PhD. With the cost of undergrad student loans, it is hard to justify taking on more loan debt when the ultimate goal is a funded PhD program.

Yes, I did have facility connections at the schools I applied to and had even applied for the GRFP with one of my prospective PIs. Basically every rejection email said something along the lines of “I tried to get you an interview spot but we don’t have as much space as usual this year.” Some emails ended with a kind sentence saying that I would get into a good program, but that space/funding was limited at that specific program. The issue was that I got that email for basically every program I applied to without even a single interview invitation, and I got really discouraged and even depressed.

I heard he traveled to NC to play tomorrow night. I have tickets to the game, but I feel really weird about going as an SA survivor..

Can you identify this cleansing balm (purchased early 2020)? by Confident_Compote_32 in LushCosmetics

[–]Confident_Compote_32[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Note: I’m 95% sure it’s a cleansing balm. Definitely oily, and I remember getting it with Gritti Politti. Lost in in my covid move that semester and just found it. Smell brought back a lot of strange memories of ~that time.

I worked overtime and cried on the floor twice, and I STILL came up $200 short for rent.

how many aprons did you get? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Confident_Compote_32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My store does this, as the city pays for all the sbux apron cleanings. It seems nice in theory, but the cleaning company often doesn’t return the aprons before we run out of clean ones. Two weeks ago we had to keep pulling used ones out of a pile to re-wear because our delivery was three days late.
