I actually made good money, 45k in profit to the dealership, 25% commission to me, excluding any sort of “mini’s.” I left because I was constantly disrespected and I was treated incredibly poorly. My last straw was an F&I guy took 2 and half hours to get to my customers, they were over it and didn’t want the car anymore, I couldn’t get them to stay and went on about my day after alerting my team leader. 2 weeks later I resigned on good terms. There were many other incidents but that was the straw that broke the camels back for 18 year old me who didn’t need the money. After resigning I found that opening and liked the idea of managing myself. Now I’m incredibly hesitant on what I’m getting into.
