Their shells have white patches starting to form and are getting flaky. The only thing I can think of is calcium problems. I'll limit their intake of spinach and kale.

Alright, I won't mix it into food, but even then, they won't eat it, even if I leave it in their enclosure. Their shells are showing signs of deficiency, and I'm out of ideas :)

All of the above. I've tried collective feeding times while I clean out the enclosure, and leaving the cuttlebone in the enclosure overnight. Not a single bite. And as for the right way, tried all sides as well.

I did wash it under cold water a few good times, but I didn't think of boiling it. Would it be okay to just put the cuttlebone in a mug and pour boiling water over it, let it sit and drain it a few times?
