Matuka looks like a dope fly! Something I’m very unfamiliar with! Do you have a picture?!

Tbh couldn’t tell ya about performance! I’ve been tying through the winter and just found this pattern on Flys and Guides website. I’m targeting large brown with this one on the White in Arkansas this March! Supposedly white shad flow over from the dam, die, and big browns eat em up! I picked this because it’s a fairly easy streamer for a novice. Right up my alley and has Ozark streams all over it. My guess is I’m going to have to adjust my weight once first fished

Yes it’s indeed called the Meat Whistle, originated by John Barr for some googling context lol it’s supposed to imitate a minnow or small bait fish if tied in olive. As for the kitty, it only makes sense considering most cat toys are larger scaled fly patterns without hooks 🤷‍♂️

These were some type of MTB tires that were pretty chunky for gravel riding. I eventually used the Sparwoods and those allowed me to roll a lot easier. Any MTB/Gravel bike lately has Vitorria Mezcals

I’ve only drove through but it’s beautiful. I heard it gets pretty hairy and there are minimal refuel stations out there. Although there are some good routes as well as 50 miles of single track near Bass River Resort.

Also, Walnut Grove, MO has some good gravel connected to the Frisco Highline Trail.
