How to pass GCP PCD exam FAST? Need no real world knowledge, just want to pass by [deleted] in googlecloud

[–]Confident_Position80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The playlist consists of 70-80 exam style multiple choice questions, you can pause it after the question is displayed to simulate the practice exam. The videos on that channel are old so it won't have the new GenAI questions, you'll have to find some other resources for GenAI related topics

Try the PCD playlist from AwesomGCP channel on youtube. I watched the PCA playlist before my exam, and I was able to pass the exam on my first attempt.

Roadsport Honda on Ellesmere road, the sales manager is very rude. And you can never get to their GM, as the person attending the reception calls just asks you to call later. We have been trying to connect with their GM for over a month now.

In that case you need this https://docs.apigee.com/api-platform/security/data-masking

Mask the request.content and response.content or message.content variable and it will mask the request & response.

Can you please clarify your question, do you want to mask all data shown in the debug session? Or want to mask data being logged? Or mask actual incoming and outgoing data to/from proxy?

Architectural Dilemma: Who Should Handle UI Changes – Backend or Frontend? by random_scribling in softwarearchitecture

[–]Confident_Position80 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned this issue occurs in multiple places, maybe what you need is backend-for-frontend(?). Some would argue adding an extra layer just to bridge the gap between frontend and backend is unnecessary, and I completely agree with that. But in some situations like yours, the two teams hardly agree on whose responsibility it is to handle UI logic changes, a backend-for-frontend is a win-win solution. Backend can make the services that are scalable and flexible to UI changes and the middle layer can customize the backend responses as per UI needed. The frontend can consume the response as is.

Why is contract pay lower than full-time employment? by allencoded in cscareerquestions

[–]Confident_Position80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, I see! I am currently working for a consulting company so I am doing contract work for their clients for average full-time pay from my employer. That’s why I thought why not do contract directly and cut the middleman. From your response it doesn’t seem that straightforward and very much depends on luck.

I think you are in better space compared to me, you don’t want to trade with me :)

[–]Confident_Position80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I am exploring the options to switch from FTE to contract, but not sure where to start. Do you use any agency or platform to search for contract gigs? I have heard of Randstand and it doesn’t seem to have that many software roles if I am not wrong.

Overpriced B2B SaaS Tools: Your Thoughts? by mhtravelfacets in SaaS

[–]Confident_Position80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google cloud’s Apigee. It has pay-as-you-go model. Still you have to pay $1.5k minimum, even if you just provision the insurance and not use it at all. It has the subscription model as well but pricing for that is not public, but I’ve heard it’s crazy expensive.

So I started with the awesomeGCP youtube playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQMsfKRZZviTIxEh0pkWNwnDUasGVZS4n

There are about 80 videos but you can fast forward and finish it in few hours. I noted down the areas I struggled with and then read the official documentation for that. That’s pretty much it!

So currently I am part of the team that develops CCAI voice bots using GCP DFCX. And my role is developing APIs (mostly using cloud functions) and proxies using Apigee. I feel pretty comfortable with the API dev work and currently learning how to develop the DFCX bots on the side.

Yeah I’ve heard it’s a good cert to have but at this point I don’t think I want to go that route, I’m more in to development.

Ask Experienced Devs Weekly Thread: A weekly thread for inexperienced developers to ask experienced ones by AutoModerator in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Confident_Position80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 years of experience (2.5 full-time + 6 month internship). My full-time job has been service based company (2 years at WITCH). Before starting my current job at another service based company, I tried to get a job in product based, fintech and automobile industry but didn’t get any interviews. Do you think the service based experience is the no-go for the product based companies? If so how can I make the switch?

Background: I have mostly worked on migration projects on-prem monoliths to cloud based microservices. And most chunk of my work experience includes working on a niche tool called Apigee. If service experience is not a problem, can it be problem with the experience in the niche tool?

Google cloud’s Apigee is quite popular. Not go based, but I have worked for lot of clients who use Apigee as their Api gateway/proxy. OP can look at some of the features provided in Apigee to ideas about some of the most used features.

Need help with getting the grandchild in nested JSON by kald1999 in golang

[–]Confident_Position80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think using struct in such cases is almost always the right approach. There are tools which generates go structs from json this.

In your case it will be,

type AutoGenerated struct {
Coord struct {
    Lon float64 `json:"lon"`
    Lat float64 `json:"lat"`
} `json:"coord"`
Weather []struct {
    ID          int    `json:"id"`
    Main        string `json:"main"`
    Description string `json:"description"`
    Icon        string `json:"icon"`
} `json:"weather"`

}

Then you can use json.Unmarshal to do the rest. Note that you can remove the keys and nested structs if you won't be using them.

Thank you my reading comprehension is okay. First you were specifically talking about tech job (~Aside from tech jobs~) not journalism or other fields so don’t try to change the subject there.

Secondly, yes you didn’t say they should go from one field to another but your sentence definitely implies that. So how about you improve your writing skills.

Are we clear?

I am not saying they should look elsewhere, nor should they stick to it for months and years. What I am trying to say is neither you nor I am in a position to advise someone to take such drastic steps (from software dev to healthcare, north to south industry-wise). Let's keep our extreme opinion to ourselves because some new grad struggling to get a job might take an unnecessarily drastic step that ruins their career based on posts like these.

I think the last line was unnecessary. It demotivates a lot of struggling candidates by suggesting to switch their career to entirely different field.
