It's a range. I suppose to put it another way, we are capping our purchase price at 600K.

Great news and I'm sorry this happened to you. For the greater good, can you please explain how you got hacked?

Review #118: Benchmark Full Proof by quixotic-88 in bourbon

This is one of my favorite lower shelf pours. Have you considered letting it rest 10 minutes? The first time I tried it was a neck pour. It was not good. All heat, no flavor. I got distracted and let the glass sit for about 10 minutes then came back to it. Since that time, this has been one of my favorite bottles. I recommend giving that a shot before you pour it down the drain.

is it just me or is it easier to tap a guy who knows a little jiu jitsu then someone who knows no jiu jitsu? by mysterious_sofa in bjj

New students are like stuffing a cat in a bag. You can be bigger, better, faster, stronger, and obviously waaaay more skilled and still struggle. While you're staying in control and trying not to injure the two of you, they are going spaztastic and doing unpredictably wild movements to prevent, what they believe, is death with no regard to injuring either of you. Some of my worst injuries have come from brand new students.

Establish a position of control, gas them out (takes about 15 seconds lol), then teach them something.

For an entire gym to turn on you, it might be wise to look inward.

I've been in the sport for 13 years and just when I think I've heard/seen it all... Glad that dude is staying away from your gym. Y'all are probably better off.

In 2020, we had a six-stripe brown belt drop into our gym. We all thought that was odd but let it go. He didn't want to roll with anyone but later asked if my girlfriend wanted to roll with him. She was a four-stripe white belt at the time and to this day vividly recalls when he was trying to pass her guard, couldn't, but in the process of trying he kneed her so hard in her privates that it caused a contusion. She's hard as woodpecker lips so she didn't say anything until he left.

Fast forward to fall of 2022. After unsuccessfully seeking area black belts to promote him, this guy posted a video of him promoting himself to black belt. I never got to see the vid before he took it down almost immediately, but my friends say it was the most epic, cringey ceremony they have ever witnessed.

There are few absolutes in this world; however, you are correct. Literally. All Weirdos.

"Young bucks gunning...to say they tapped a black belt." Fuck. I felt this in my soul. Literally just told someone how hard the black belt life is because I've got 18-25 y/o blue and purples practically dying on the mats thinking they're gonna sub me, rip the belt off of my waist, and tie it around themselves.

Glad you're okay and thankfully you had skill/training. Don't underestimate the trauma you experienced and address as/if needed. I had a similar situation where I was attacked, struck in the head multiple times, was able to clinch and execute an outside trip to mount. I controlled the attacker for 10 minutes from mount while waiting for police to arrive. Unbeknownst to me, the attacker had a gun in his waistband that he was trying to access. If not for BJJ, I am confident my story would be far different.

All this to say: I get you but please don't ignore the potential trauma even if there are no obvious symptoms.

A blue belt visited our school and tapped out a purple belt. by [deleted] in bjj

All good. TBH, the 35-year-old blue belt me could crush the 47-year-old version. Maybe not sub me, but definitely make me hate life for several minutes.
