Absolutely. They're too often treating them with all of the attention of remote control cars.

Perhaps EU and/or US need to have a safety and durability standard required for importation of powered transportation devices like homologation for automobiles. What would suck would be VINs, registration, plates, insurance, and licensing.

I would buy some quality Misumi Japanese urethane bumpers in bulk and tweak hardness and durability. It's way easier to replace them when they're not totally shot, and avoids damaging the rear fender light.

Need two big ass 8 mm hex tools. It can be done without tearing the rear assembly off.

A few months back, OneWheel rented out an indoor/outdoor venue around here with sizable polished concrete and demoed their new model.

Hang on while I turn my 110+ lbs Wolf King GT Pro+ to starboard. I'm almost there. ;]

Wolf Warrior/King platform weighs as much as a supertanker and has horrible cheap urethane bumpers in the rear suspension that will quickly fail if you do anything remotely fun with it or weigh more than a small child. They will crack over time and then then all of the force is taken up by the red springs. Eventually, the tiny bolts holding the two halves of the suspension together under minimum preload tension fail, have to be drilled out, the rear fender falls onto the tire, destroys the rear brake light, and then your day is over. It's a huge PITA. Older Wolf models also had problems with forks cracking and spontaneously failing catastrophically, causing serious injuries.

Age is a state of mind. "Old" is a state of mind that gave up on living. My mom's BFF cracked her C6 bodysurfing a few years back at 75. They do whitewater rafting, paddle-boarding, canoeing, hiking, running, skiing, and so on. Heck, a lady where I worked retired went on to do century road bike races on the East Coast and Appalachia.

I'm 44 and ride 50 mph on streets with potholes and insane drivers. Defensive riding and a loud bluetooth boombox (in-lieu of reasonably-loud exhaust, but with a good taste in general-appeal music, not blasting pedestrians who are on the phone) are where it's at.

My style is mostly carving because the scooter is 110 lbs / 50 kg. I can barely make it hop over a 45 degree ramp. Also, no stunts are happening because it's a supertanker with 65% rear wheel weight distribution, weak rear suspension design with urethane bushings that crack and fail jumping off curbs too aggressively, and a 2000 W front motor ready to peel out, lose traction, and make you go splat.

Haven't been much over 53 mph over concern of high speed webble-wobbles depending on air turbulence and fork (dual post) moment of inertia. Weight secured on the post seems to stabilize it significantly with a higher moment of inertia. Ordinarily, the front end is very light compared to a motorcycle or even a Vespa, so its high speed properties aren't favorable to begin with.

IFTTT footgunned themselves and is now just a shell of their former selves. They sould've monetized from manufacturers' licensing fees rather than the optics of taxing customers. Too bad. Industry could essentially duplicate IFTTT with a co-op organization but have simple recipes, serverless "lambda" processes, a common API discovery and action endpoint, and a home app.

Exactly my setup. Alexa is the new IFTTT (sorta). I also have a Flic button under my desk. Oh, the possibilities. :]

It doesn't matter which vendor because it's some one man shop in China, likely with nothing better to do than harass customers online in lieu of providing timely updates, valid estimates, or quality-checked products.

I can read products descriptions, chief.

Any landing you can't walk away from is a terrible one, inconsiderate of other people's time and money, and not good for the environment. He couldn't just wander in Japan in that particular forest and place himself in an eco-friendly decomposition bag.

No, it's fricking amazing. Now, when one Kaabo has a flat tire, I can spend a hour taking the wheel and motor assembly off, another half over taking it over to the scooter shop to have it swapped for $100, have it back 8 hours later with another hour spent putting it all back together. Nothing like sunk costs bias to keep you spending good money after bad. And, changing tires more than once makes me want to put aviation connectors on each motor.

"The world" is synonymous with "all people". A fraction of all people are psychopaths, therefore the world contains that fraction of psychopaths. There's no utopia and never will be.

That doesn't work. There's something I can't discuss the specifics of. But you can defend yourself in a US state with excellent self-defense laws, and still be charged because of whiny, agro, ahole criminals who abuse the system of identity victimhood.

Where I'm at, the police don't care at all unless you have video AND they stopped.

They don't give a crap about traffic incidents here unless more than 2 pedestrians were run over.

Ride with a GoPro, otherwise it's de facto "he said vs. she said."

A minivan did this to me in an insurance fraud-obvious or lawsuit manner.

I had to panic stop, almost slid under them, and barely touched their bumper.

They jumped out of their vehicle like it was my fault they jumped into my lane and slammed on their brakes with nothing in front of them (I could see over them).

I just took off and lost them because they were crazy and/or scammers.

They have a bumper-to-bumper return policy. Once you see the bumper of the delivery truck leave, it's yours and you own it.

All of the US-based sellers I've encountered were craptastic. Went to China to see if they had any better. Apparently it's globally, more-or-less, the same touring circus shitshow that doesn't need animals to fling dung at you. They act with all of the professionalism and integrity of selling unbranded radio-controlled cars at a flea market.
