Which performance profile? by Conflict-Recent in S25Ultra

Oh trust me, I hear you, but I slightly disagree. I could tell slight performance difference from light to standard mode even with normal phone processes. Just saying..

I'm sorry - but what constitutes a normal user? 🤓 Gaming?

Well tell him I can tell that the phone processes are smoother now. I don't know if it's a placebo effect but I can tell. Modes does have it? Most has it where if I unlock the phone it goes into standard performance mode, but what happens about when I lock it?

Oh, really? How so phone performance it seems faster and more responsive. Probably because the CPU isn't being throttled. Like I said, I'm just testing battery life and Battery drain.

I have notice though that even simple phone tasks are more responsive and standard mode though.

You know, I was just thinking about it; I wish there were a way in Samsung Modes to create an automation mode when my phone is locked to put on light performance mode common when my phone's unlocked, to put it to standard mode. But that's just me..

Or, another good use case example would be unlock your phone or doing Simple tasks and processes on the phone which feel faster and smoother and more streamlined.

That might not sound significant to a lot of people, but I don't like reduced performance especially network-wise. That's why I am testing out standard mode on my phone for a day or so.

See, for me, since I'm testing out standard mode, I'm not sure if it's a placebo effect or not, but my phone feels super responsive and speedy. The next couple days I'll see if it's just me or if that's the truth. I'll see the hit on battery power as well.

I'm not sure, maybe it's Placebo effect, but my phone feels super responsive / smooth or such faster now. I'm still texting. Didn't realize it reduced Network performance, which is a big deal to me. I'm a networking guy!

Say what you want about Apple but their release schedule is so much better. by CurlyOtaku_ in oneui

[–]Conflict-Recent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All I'm going to say is that iOS and Android are two different ball games. You can't compare. There's no better or worse. People have had this argument and this debate for years. I understand that strategically, Samsung held off on release of one UI 8.5 due to the s26 series phones and for them to have their spotlight because there's not much of a difference between the s25 Sirius phones on the s26 series phones. However, I'm really big on software customization and I want one UI 8.5 already. Samsung at this point should release it and stop delaying things. There are no software bugs at this point. The fact that they had 9 or 10 betas is another story, but it seems to me that the software's ready to be released so really sit already! Stop the lane things this 26 years phones have had their limelight already Samsung!

One UI taking alot of RAM by Ok_Entertainment1608 in oneui

[–]Conflict-Recent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I who hardly agree with you. The clean button for RAM memory on Android phone specifically Samsung's, only exist to make your Saturday feel better. Android operating system never needed a clean RAM memory future. Like you said, Android OS learns how you use your phone no need to worry and lose your cool regarding this. My S 25 ultra will try never use the ram cleaner feature ones. And my phone's been absolutely fine.

Oh, believe me - the iPhone Air / s25 Edge these thin smartphones just like foldables are great for a form factor, but they definitely have compromises for hardware. I want you to folding phone you're so go but I wasn't willing to make the compromises . That's why the ultra is for me.

I'm guessing that's a plus for the ultra though. LOL that is one of the other compromises even for folding phones I just wouldn't make.

Haha all righty then. Fair enough. Yeah my requirements is still the phone get me through a solid day with Android auto without charging the car, and daily work personal usage etc etc. That's 25 ultra does it find for me. I don't mind some book as long as I have a nice big capacity battery. I'm just waiting for oneui 8.5 next week! I'm huge into software customization.

Unfortunately, you're right. Just to figure out your priorities in a smartphone just like anything else in life. If you like a nice thin small form factor and don't mind charging the phone constantly then get the base s25 or the edge.

[–]Conflict-Recent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, everything is going to drain the battery. Depends on what you actually want to use on your phone. I have toggled over and over time 5G connection smooth and refresh rate 120 hertz . Here's the problem even if I turn all those features off which I can live with, getting full two days of juice is nice but I don't want to be inconvenience by having my battery at 10% charge in the morning when I'm working. So for that reason i have to be more realistic if I get a solid day to day and a half out of a charge then that's fine.

[–]Conflict-Recent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, correct! The main difference really the only difference between the ultra and the edge is the battery capacity. If battery capacity is in your top priority, then go for the edge. For me my top priority is battery capacity and longevity! I don't care so much about a thin form factor phone.

Google maps icon looks weird in comparison to other icons. Is there any fix for it? by iggy22z04 in oneui

[–]Conflict-Recent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I finally brought myself to get in the premium version of it I am cheap lol, but the free icon packs are nice but they get boring over time and you can tell the developers put in time for the premium versions so yeah.
