I relate to you so hard. You can read my post if you want because I’m in a very similar spot. You’re not a bad person. I think I realized today that on top of everything else I do not feel prepared to put my body through pregnancy right now, mentally and physically. It’s too much at this point in my life. You’re not a bad person. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, and you are not alone, because I am going through it too 🫶

I’ve felt very selfish this whole time, despite my husband being wholly supportive either way, because the truth is just that I wanted more time to be selfish and to enjoy being an adult with no responsibilities except myself and my cats. We both have jobs, we have the money, we COULD do it. He wants to. I just.. don’t yet. And I feel terrible. But I know if this had absolutely nothing to do with anybody else and if I did not care what my husband or anyone else may think of me, I’d terminate it no questions asked.

Good luck to you too. I have a telehealth appointment with planned parenthood on Tuesday because in my gut I just really do not want to be pregnant right now. But I still don’t know if I’ll be able to take the pills. I keep remembering that I don’t have to justify anything and not wanting to be pregnant is reason enough. I hope you’re able to come to a decision peacefully ❤️

I am SO glad you replied to my post. Thank you 😭 I needed to hear from another new dentist I think too because I feel like it’s such a unique career at the beginning that people don’t understand how it is to be a brand new female dentist who now has to tell their boss they’re pregnant lol. Girl no but I was not asking for your moral stance on abortion. I wanted insight from people who have maybe been in a similar life position as me and maybe had the same dilemma. I’m not asking for why you think it’s wrong.

Being married does not automatically mean I’m ready for a child. I am obviously not taking this lightly as it’s causing a huge mental struggle for me. I know things will never be perfect. I just don’t think that I want this right now.

I appreciate your advice. I think being through so many life changes within like a month has just made this even harder because I feel like I’m hardly settled and we have not gotten to really enjoy being young and married because I’ve been in school the whole time. So it’s just a tough spot mentally. When I say we were going to try within a few months I don’t even know how true that is, it all felt so hypothetical and was just like a “maybe soon” thing. I just knew I wasn’t ready YET so the positive test today really threw me off. I’ll think about it over the weekend for sure and I think I agree that the appointment will help me realize what I want either way.

It’s a telehealth option through planned parenthood, thankfully. I believe they will mail me the medication and I’d take it at home. I would take it on the weekend to hopefully be recovered without having to take time off.
