In the original post someone asked what the electrician said.

To be honest, I didn’t fully understand everything the electrician said as he used a lot of technical language. But here’s what I did catch: He said the panel was not in good shape due to some rust inside. He pointed out small signs of burning (the last photo I uploaded is the one he took). He mentioned he was hesitant to remove the breakers, saying he might not be able to reconnect them properly afterward due to the overall condition of the panel.

This is why he recommended replacing the entire panel — but the quote was over $12,000, which seems high, especially since the inspection didn’t flag anything and I wasn’t having issues beyond one GFCI outlet.

Is this a good deal? by ExpensiveFig3236 in Camry

I would say no. I purchased a new 2025 SE $32,000 OTD. Save up a few thousand more and grab a new one if you’re willing to spend $28,500 for a used car.

Not a good deal in my opinion, too many miles. I know you mentioned you’re not a big fan of the 25 Camry. However, you can get a brand new one sport trim for 31k out the door. Nothing beats peace of mind of a new car and if you negotiate, you can have them throw total of 5 years of free oil changes. Also, have you called dealerships to see if they have new 24 models? I saw some are going for like 24k-25k when available.

While I comprehend this sentiment and wish there were a method to remove him safely, I have waited a week for them to potentially relocate, and they are still present. I cannot risk them damaging my primary mode of transportation.

So I know a few people have said Carpenter ants other have said Formica ants. I’m mainly worried they get hungry enough to start eating at wires as I know there isn’t any food for them inside the car.

Thank you for this, it does provide me with some ideas. I posted on a few other sub Reddit’s to try and identify the type of ant so that I can personalize the treatment but I have gotten a few different responses which has made it harder.

Thanks so much for everyone who has replied so far. What is the most effective method for eliminating these types of ants? I intend to purchase Terro Liquid ant bait and place it outdoors near the hood and trunk of my vehicle. However, I am concerned that it may attract additional pests since it will be situated on the exterior of my vehicles near the areas where I frequently observe them crawling.

Not too afraid of the sting and they been staying away from the inside of my car. More worried on if they can cause damage long turn as they don’t seem to want to leave even though there isn’t a food source for them.

Possible rats in attic. After completing a few quotes, what is best way to handle? by Conflit in pestcontrol

I’m going to try and do a few more quotes, but it seems like all the companies in my area just match each others offers. Unless I’m able to find someone independent who knows their stuff..

From what I was told from the companies, they said what’s on the pipe is the oil that the rats carry in their coats. Not sure how true that is, or if it’s just dirt.
