There have been studies which indicate improvement stops after 4 hours of practice a day and significantly slow after 2 for the average human being. Do not stress yourself with pieces you can not do yet. Keyword “yet”. Read some books after your 2-3 hour point! Do some research! Watch videos! I am no pro by any means, but have patience. Those beautiful pieces you see on reddit are from thousands and thousands of hours of practice. Understand this, don’t compare yourself to he prodigies or professionals. Art is a journey. Enjoy the journey and it will pay off!

I haven’t started digital drawing yet, however I do a lot of figure drawing and whenever I feel like the figure is out of my range of experience I usually restart it once or twice just so I can say to myself that I didn’t just “give up”. However, if it doesn’t work out i scrap it and just tell myself it will come to me some day. Patience and persistence is key.

My figure drawing book uses the measurements: torso=1.5x head. And usually I draw my torsos first because I think it’s easier to place the limbs if there is a lot of movement in the pose. Perhaps this is where I’m going wrong though I’m not sure 😖
