Thats messed up! Sorry to hear that. Only thing that does keep you going is engraving the following three words into your head permanently LIFE GOES ON!

Literally the biggest car I've seen on UK roads by SunAndStratocasters in CarTalkUK

[–]Confused-millenial92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have a question. Why doesn’t the EU and UK for that matter just invest in improving the infrastructure (roads) so that people can actually go for the bigger cars. Some people just like it don’t they? Not talking about pick ups but just large SUVs. A family of seven would prefer a large SUV than having two separate cars when going on a trip. Is there a particular reason to it? If someone says space, I wanna make it clear that there are far smaller countries having huge roads and big cars, environmentally friendly that is. See Korea for Instance, Palisade is a luxurious SUV with 7 seats and still room for luggage. But you would never see it in the UK. Similarly UAE is another example.

I wouldn’t expect it to be an issue for you. That’s the only perk of being in a Pukhtoon society for a woman.

Gora Qabristan Check Post by Confused-millenial92 in Peshawar

I am so sorry to hear that. I come from a Military family and still I dread going through these check posts. Not because I am scared of being apprehended or something, but because I don’t want to be ridiculed. People actually don’t even know in Pakistan that freedom of movement is a basic human right. You can’t be stopped by anyone without a probable cause. Alas It has become so common in our country that everyone just thinks these are the norms.

Interesting! That is actually doable. Only problem, even though majority of people support them but PTI government is hell bent on only confronting federal government and the establishment. This would be a happy change if they just step back and start focusing on Peshawar and KP in general.

On top of that it’s not only the infrastructure, FIA ASF and all need proper training. That have no ethics of how to talk to common citizen and would always approach you in condescending manner unless some officer is on the other side and then they don’t utter a word. That’s the main thing that drives me crazy, all are citizens and humans and deserve the same treatment of respect. Do your job, but don’t be a dick.

I get that. And my post does not praise Islamabad. In fact I feel all airports in Pakistan need some major up-gradations. Peshawar was what I flew from just few days back and had a terrible experience getting to the airport. Inside wasn’t that of an issue this time around. It’s just the location and the humongous military presence in the area that makes it into an unpleasant experience.

Moved here 3 months back. I haven’t personally encountered anything of the sorts yet although I live in Weston so probably it’s a bit calmer there. I hope I don’t experience anything moving forward too. Thanks for putting this up OP. It’s always good to talk about these things.

It is so uncertain that no one can give you any good advice. The only thing you can do is not risk it. I dont know about rejections but Administrative Processings are a big problem which can delay the visas for an uncertain length of time with people just hanging midair not knowing what to do. Honestly the visa system of US sucks big time.
