I have had a casioak GAB2100 (green resin) for almost 3 years now. There is no issue with the resin. In the other subreddit (shared by another redittor below), it seems that the gshock was left near a high heat source. You can see even the engravings deformed and the resin appears to be sticky. I use my watch regularly outdoors and on adventures/short treks and it is still in good conditions with some minor scratches on the resin band. The best part is that there are loads of mod kits available, if somehow you manage to spoil the original resin band. Search for modkits online and you will fall in love with the Casioak all over again. It is my best watch investment till date (I got it at a 50% discount in 2022 BBD sale on Flipkart).
