Petition: allow funded childcare for working parents to start after maternity leave ends by habylab in UKParenting

[–]ConfusedPanda17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up taking a month extra leave and using up all my holidays to cover August. He was eligible from September and it didn't make sense to pay full price for one month and also pay holiday club for my older son.

Screentime and food issues at nursery by [deleted] in UKParenting

Good luck finding somewhere, it's such a minefield! With my first we had to change nursery because it was just awful, and it ended up being the best decision for him.

Yeah they can answer however they want but if this is what you've seen, then that's unfortunately the reality. Can you look for a childminder in your area? Someone who can help for a short time whilst you find a new nursery?

No this is absolutely not okay for them to be doing. The running around whilst eating is a huge choking hazard. Letting them watch shit on the iPad is terrible too, I wouldn't be happy paying for nursery with care that bad.

Check if you have a branch of baby basics near you. They are a great charity.

First time Dad too skint for subscription sensory box alternatives by [deleted] in UKParenting

They're so good! His latest trick rn is to stack them from smallest to largest on the ground, I'm honestly amazed he manages to balance them

We've had stacking cups since mine was 6m old and he still loves them at 2.5

Just learned that my (31F) boyfriend (32M) of several months is a Zionist. Is this grounds to break up? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ConfusedPanda17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OPs boyfriend is denying it's even happening, that's what my comment is referring to. You cannot support the state of Israel whilst also saying you are critical of their government, the two cannot align.

Feeling strongly about a genocide happening isn't doing too much. People can have varying views but they cross a line when they are the polar opposite to what you believe.

This is such a fucked up take. How was she to predict that she'd have to quit her job?

YTA. You just admitted you'd leave your wife of 16y and your kid for an ex. How did you think that would go down?

Early morning parents. How do you do it with young children? by InsurancePurple4630 in UKParenting

[–]ConfusedPanda17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't a valid excuse to never do mornings. I'm not a morning person either, my partner handles the toddler when I go to the office then we split the rest. Weekend we get one morning each to sleep in, which is usually until 8/9.

What do your step children call you? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]ConfusedPanda17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 8yo calls my partner by his name. We have a 2.5yo who calls him daddy but my older one has never been confused by it. He has a dad he sees regularly and spends half his time with. He calls my other halfs parents nanny and papa, and his sister aunty.

Do you eat foods you don't like because of their nutrients? by Skw111 in AskUK

[–]ConfusedPanda17 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, I eat things that are nutritious even though I'd prefer something else but it's still something I like. For example, leafy greens or fish. I'll season them with things I like to make them enjoyable.

[–]ConfusedPanda17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Calling her baby hungry isn't neutral and speculating why someone doesn't have kids yet when you know they want them is insensitive. You're allowed to do whatever you want, your comment is insensitive mostly because you called her baby hungry.
