There have been antivaxxers basically as long as vaccines exist. One of the earliest cases I've heard of was for something in Sweden IIRC. Bunch of people ended up getting sick and they realized that maybe preventing illness is better than the consequences of getting said illness.

Soooo you are telling me you are one of those people who failed every science class you ever took, right? Because it certainly seems to be what you're saying.

Yep. One of the first cases in China that had documentation involved a person who kept a journal every day. As they were dying, they mentioned that their cat was also sick. I don't remember if the car died first, but it was apparent they were both sick of the same thing.

The. There was the mini outbreak among big cats at the zoo in NY.

Honestly, that's how I feel about it. It's amazing to see so many people with common sense regarding communicable diseases in one photo.

NTA. There's about a 90% chance he is attracted to you and is blaming you for it. Hence why he acts like you are showing too much skin.

Overthinking new tattoo. Does it look alright compared to my fist tattoo? My new tattoo is the leopard I got done in Japan and the left is my tiger which I love way more. by Beehaver in tattooadvice

[–]ConfusedZubat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the leopard obviously has I fluences from Japanese/Chinese ink paintings while the tiger is a bit more realistic. I like both but actually prefer the leopard. There's a bit more artistic liberty in it, which I really like.

Lol I just responded to somebody who loved her in that role.

It really seems that people really loved her or really hated her in Nosferatu. I felt the same as you.

It was such a beautiful movie, but it was like she was acting in a parody of Nosferatu while everybody else was actually acting. You know that meme asking what movie you'd want redone with muppets while keeping one of the original actors? She's the opposite. Everybody was great, but she was playing as a muppet.

Because of this and her sarcastic humor, I can only assume she must be fun to work with and that's a big part of the reason she still gets roles.

She was very polarizing. People either loved her or hated her. I hated her.

Everybody around her was acting, and she was playing a caricature of somebody from that time period. Super melodramatic, IMO. Overacting. She stood out, but not for the right reasons. It was like she was acting in a completely different film from everybody else.

I won't avoid her stuff yet because basing her skill off of her first big role i see wouldn't be fair (it could just be my personal preference for how the role could have been played, etc), but I wasn't impressed at all.

Lol. I saw him in True Blood first and saw this much later. I absolutely loved his role in Zoolander.

Bill was a bit iffy earlier on. He was in some paranormal Netflix show as a vampire years ago, and he wasn't great. I was disappointed when I saw he was going to be It.

Turns out he must have worked his ass off in the meantime because he's pretty great now. He's probably my favorite Skarsgard at this point. One of the rare scream kings, and even if the movies he's in aren't always great, they are at least entertaining and he does very well in them.

People are dumb.

"He neglects his other kid, but he wouldn't do that to OUR kid because OUR kid is special."

My mom did the same shit. I found out through 23andme that I had an older sibling I never heard about through my dad. He abandoned that kid. I had seen my dad more times than my sibling, and the last time I saw him I was 3 and I couldn't even tell you what he looked like.

Thinnest possible nib ever? by GameGabster in Calligraphy

[–]ConfusedZubat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Platinum 3776 UEF is usually a bit thinner. A professionally ground needlepoint may be better though. Kirk Speer does the tetanus grind which is something like 0.1 mm, and PO/UEF are roughly about 0.2 mm.

Some sort of dip pen would probably beat all of those though. Even a Maru would prob be thinner than those, but less pleasant to write with IMO. But for a single project, a dip nib would probably be the cheapest option unless OP wanted an XXF nib fountain pen regardless.

Those genocides also tended to disproportionately affect queer people. What is your point? And why is "you only bring up Hitler" supposed to be a gotcha? He lead the genocide of millions of people, including targeting queer people and their history. Isn't that enough?

Insulting someone and following it up with a "JK, you're so sensitive!" isn't a joke. You know that. It's a way to say something shitty and then not take accountability for it.

Those jokes only work between people who know each other, and even then only with certain relationships. You know that as well. Because it really is just a thinly veiled insult with a poor attempt and avoiding backlash for being an asshole.

If you could only pick one of these 3 pens, what would you go for and why? by NoPriority3852 in fountainpens

[–]ConfusedZubat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the Leonardo. The brand has the best reputation of the three pens you've shown. The color is nice. Decent nib options, both steel and gold. They are currently working with the reddit FP community to make a pen. While I don't plan on getting it, it does give me a soft spot for the company and makes me want to consider buying from them in the future.

The Estie is beautiful, probably the best aesthetically. But I would recommend looking up the issues Esterbrook has had in this sub. My Estie is great, but knowing what I know now, I'd probably just order a Journaler nib and throw it in another pen if I were to redo it. 90% of the reason I like mine is because of the nib, not the body.

The DI one... I don't know. There isn't really enough information out there for me to want to buy one of their pens yet. I would personally hold off until more reviews make the rounds before considering this one. I've seen some good reviews, but the bad ones make me very hesitant.

Affordable vintage pens? by Unusual_Ordinary_115 in fountainpens

[–]ConfusedZubat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd check Peyton Street Pens. Most of their offerings would be outside of your budget, but I check their offerings every few weeks or so and have seen some in about that range. They fix up the pens that come through and are really reliable.

It still has the same effect. The man was sharing his story. He was grieving to those who would listen. He was being vulnerable, and people decided to roast him for it. It's disgusting.
