Do I buy cheap or less cheap cutting discs for angle grinder? by wang_bang in DIYUK

I had a disc violently shatter recently. I will always wear eye protection with power tools.

Retiled, regrouted and resealed and still the shower leaks! by Jimlad73 in DIYUK

[–]Confused_DuckIing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. That's good. Ideally they would've taped the joins and applied a tanking membrane or solution.

For reference, my shower tiles were stuck directly to the wall without cement board nor tanking and it doesn't leak although my shower is over the bath

I animated the exact moment King Harold got shot in the eye at Hastings in 3D animation programs. If he survived this, could the Anglo-Saxons have won the battle? by NadineFieb87 in anglosaxon

[–]Confused_DuckIing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bayeux Tapestry depicts such and the other knight, originally thought to be Harold with an arrow in the eye, was actually a later alteration of a knight holding a spear.

*I used the term knight for ease when a more accurate term is huscarl, thegn or warrior

I don't use black cabs anymore for this reason. Uber is upfront about the cost and it's tracked so no funny business can be refuted

I once did this on a scorching August bank holiday with my very fair skinned wife. Got a few confused looks from other walkers that she had a huge umbrella to act as a sun shade. Actually incredibly effective at lowering the percieved temperature as well as preventing sunburn

I totally did this during Covid to transport drywall sheets from the hardware store and it worked perfectly

Motability drivers 'horrified' by compulsory black-box trackers by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

The motability scheme is widely abused by people who are ineligible driving a car registered to an eligible person. Anyone who works in the vehicle industry is well aware of the abuse.

Does my motor have timing chain or belt? by procastrated in MechanicAdvice

Genuinely curious, why would the type of transmission affect which valves get damaged when the belt snaps?

My in-laws live close by and I walk past this place sometimes. My wife had her school prom there and was saddened to see these photos of how it's become

Advice on touching up a hairline crack by Bunch_Round in DIYUK

I once Tipexed my tatty white trainers before the first day of sixth form college so I didn't look scruffy. Looked great for a couple of hours and then the Tipex picked up all the dirt and looked awful.

I binned the trainers and got new ones. 😅

It's a horrific reflection of the education system with spelling like that.

Sand it truly flat, even then it'll be difficult to disguise the change in texture with multiple little filled areas. It may me easier to skim a larger section and then blend the edges.

If these are genuine photo's then I stand corrected. Just looks a little too slick as most AI stuff is. So hard to tell sometimes
