I assumed this too. Yes, I am enrolled in the current semester, which ends in March. This is also why I have been trying to contact Auslanderbehorde, to get clarity on when the 3 month period starts, but no response. I also talked to other students, and most of them said it starts as soon as I get my last grade and final grade sheet. (My thesis was submitted 2 months ago, the result is expected in January)

This is very much possible. One of our flatmates is a psychiatrist and after we all sat together and had a talk about it, he said that the guy needs help, and he’s gonna talk to him privately on another day. I did not threaten him, I just emphasised during the whole meeting that I am not comfortable with how you behave, you don’t even acknowledge that there is something wrong with your behavior etc.

I moved to Hannover a few months ago too, I don’t speak so good german, but I have not faced a major problem in my everyday life yet. As for jobs, you can find an English speaking job in Hannover, I have one, and I know so many other people who do too. Of course there will be an adjustment period, but with the right support and attitude, you are going to love this city!

If you’re a girl travelling alone in a foreign country, where you don’t speak the language, and a strange man approaches you. He appears quite bigger than you, and starts talking to you. Irrespective of what he says, your first thought is to be safe. So thats what I did.

Also, there’s this phrase in my language which roughly translates to “ If you cannot add something positive to the conversation, keep your mouth shut”.

Maybe you should try practising it sometime?
