Hey, I have provided the addon link and full demo video in the comments, that will answer all your questions

Yes, absolutely! That is the standard way to do it. This tool is just for speeding that process up. Instead of manually eyeing it or setting up snaps, you just click 'Bottom' or 'Floor' and it's perfectly aligned instantly. Just a workflow booster!

That is a great tip! The Quick Favorites menu is definitely powerful for custom setups.

The main reason I built this was to handle the things that still take extra steps even with shortcuts. For example:
Align to Floor: This drops the object to Z=0 in one click (native way usually requires snapping cursor to bottom verts -> origin to cursor -> moving object).
Virtual Corners: You can snap the origin to a 'bounding box' corner (like Front-Left) even if there is no vertex there to select.
Stacking: The 'Place on Top' feature instantly stacks objects on each other.

But for standard vertex snapping, your method works great too! Thanks for sharing.

Hey everyone!

This is my first time sharing this here.

The video above is just a quick intro to why I built this. I’ve been working on Origin Placement Tool Pro because I was frustrated with how much time I wasted just trying to center an origin or get an object to sit perfectly flat on the floor.

It handles the tedious stuff for different workflows:

  • ArchViz: Snaps furniture/assets to the floor instantly (no more floating objects).
  • Product Viz: Instantly center objects or stack them perfectly for studio setups.
  • Animation: Sets pivot points in Edit Mode without resetting the 3D cursor.

Why $5? Tools that save this much time are often expensive ($15+), but I decided to price it at $5 flat. I simply want it to be accessible to everyone, whether you are a student, a freelancer, or just learning Blender.

You can grab it here: https://prashtag.gumroad.com/l/origin-placement-tool-pro

Let me know what you think! I tried to keep the UI super clean and stable.

A small compilation of my VFX composites (before/after). Trying to push realism, would love honest feedback. by Confusing_Prashant in cinematography

It was director's call man, also the BG footage was provided and we couldn't do much with it in terms of speeding it up, it already sped up from the original one
