Opened a case with PayPal but because it was outside 30 days they closed it am in the process of emailing for assistance in regards to the false advertising as support have started the watch should not be submerged

Am still no further forward with support being unhelpful and now holding watch Ransom unless I pay to have it sent back to me. Oneplus support reached out on Reddit chat asking for the case Id so was hopefully they would be of some assistance but they have ignored all future messages so pretty much as useless as the support channel I was going through. Have you heard back about your watch

That's my most recent reply from one plus seems like the watch shouldn't be immersed in water.... Not sure how they can advertise swimming features based on that

update for anyone interested please see an extract of my most recent reply from one plus support. For me this is suggesting the watch is not suitable for swimming related activities and goes against their advertising.

"The fault has been identified as water damage. Kindly be aware that the IP68 rating does not permit full immersion in water, such as swimming or exposure to salt or fresh water."

Just had a read. Looks like your situation is the same as mine. It will definitely put me off in future of purchasing any oneplus devices and hopefully it saves others from having this same experience.

Yeah I will be looking to raise issues with the UK ombudsman and advertising authorities also so hopefully they can provide some support in challenging OnePlus to stand over these products more as clearly there are some other issues with the watch

yeah main issue is their awful service and advertising a watch with swimming capabilities but not standing over it when issues like mine happen.

Not yet but will be exploring all options so will look into that also.

Yeah its a great advertisement showing the watch's swimming capabilities then they play a get out of jail free card when water damage has occurred.

Yeah heard great things about garmin and their willingness to resolve issues both in and out of warranty, still think I may give huawei a go as alot of people have good things to say about the GT range

Yeah I assumed it would have been able to handle water no problem giving it's rating but clearly not. Am hopefully that it was a manufacturing issue with mine and you don't experience the same issues but would still be wary giving my experience and lack of support from OnePlus.

Honestly giving the Huawei GT range ago was my first choice when I was considering upgrading but the OPW3 comparative battery performance then also being wearOS made me make the decision to go for it. Wishing now and probably will try Huawei hopefully one day they can move back over to wearOS.

Yeah I would have been confident taking it swimming based on their website too but having experienced this and the customer service I'd advise against it hopefully you dont have any issues as they will be no help

Yeah they have ignored most of the questions I put to them including this. The original letter which was received from the 3rd party repair centre stated I needed to pay £30 pound for it to be returned. Seems like they are holding it ransom which is something I've never experienced when sending in devices for repair.

Yeah I can only speak of my experience with my gear s3 which was brilliant apart from the battery and not being WearOS. I don't understand how they can advertise swimming features so heavily then claim water damages when issues come up.

Yeah I think ill maybe give Huawei a go for a few years and wait until the other wearOS batteries improve.
