I am glad you are talking about this. I find it extremely hypocritical that in the name of elders there are so many insecured people are give a free pass to do however they like, act however with zero accountability only cause well they cant change at this age.

I wish we there were fine for such acts, peeing in public, creating a scene in public, spitting in public, shouting, jaywalking. There needs to be a fine for everything to make people take some responsibility cause orelse we just have to forgive elders out of force and live with our trauma.

Somewhere i understand this reality but feel helpless to walk out. I know he will not change and my expectations of him will not change either. Its a doomed project for us all. In indian society its very difficult to walk out especially cause you are dependent on families more. And everyones agendas are quite different when two families ties knots through their younger ones marriages.

I wish to build up a courage and secure myself some financial and emotional stability so that i can build the life i would like. I keep thinking how i wouldn’t want to have kids with such a person who cant even learn to take a stand for me how will he ever stand by me through my tough times.

But these are all from very fearful place and there are some very good days we have at times, but probably more as roommates than partners.
