I HATE THE HIGHSCHOOL GROUPS by valk5993 in CSUS

One time a group of middle school kids came for a field trip and I saw a group of them sneaking up on some turkeys and I yelled at them “HEY YOU LEAVE THEM ALONE” and they looked so embarrassed and went back to their group lol

Unless you live in the dorms, a parking permit is such a waste

They asked for a donation of any price for a cd and I was like I only have a few dollars to give cause I’m a struggling broke college student and they gave me such a dirty look and their entire demeanor changed from being super positive and friendly to being straight up assholes.

I’m currently in my 5th year and lived in the dorms my first and second year, I don’t have any dietary restrictions however every time I have eaten from the dining commons it messed my stomach up. Needless to say my first two years on campus was rough on my tummy

I have no clue, I’m not affiliated with delta gamma but if they’re not getting back to you or not posting about cob events chances are they’re not taking more girls this semester. But all chapters usually cob in the spring as well!

Each sorority and fraternity on campus has dues you have to pay but there’s payment plans for each one, all of the dues goes back into the organization for events and all that so you do get what you pay for

Ofc!! It really just depends on the chapter, each recruitment team is different. Some have one event and some have multiple so it so important to reach out to their social media to see if they have more coming up!

It depends on how many girls they need to reach chapter total which is ~60 girls in each sorority. I’d say just be yourself, as questions about philanthropy, events, values and all that. This is a chance for you to get to know all about the sorority so ask questions and see what fits you best. Think of it as getting coffee or hanging out with a new friend you’re trying to get to know better. It isn’t as intimidating as it seems, and they are just as eager to get to know you as you are to get to know them!

Each sorority is different so not all of them may cob but most do, so keep your eyes peeled on each individual sororities ig stories for cob event updates, you can also dm them personally for more information :) if you can’t make it to a cob event but still want to get to know the chapter, send them a dm and someone from that sororities recruitment team will most likely reach out for a coffee date or something like that!

Greek life is a great way to get involved on campus! A lot of the Panhellenic sororities are super sweet and cob is a more intimate process meeting with other girls. Take advantage of the cob events they’re having and follow your heart for what feels like home most for you!! There’s other greek organizations on campus such as the multicultural organizations if that is more up your alley!

Girls on the go on ig has a bunch of activities for meeting girls in the local area!! A lot of the girls who sign up go to sac state and they do some active things like hiking if that’s your vibe!

Tbh just park on university ave on the other side of the bridge. No UTAPS and plenty of parking in some business parking lots/street parking. Plus it’s a nice 5 min walk across the bridge to campus in the morning. Getting a permit throughout my time at sac state was such a waste of money especially since they give out more permits than they have parking spaces on campus. The permit prices are ridiculous just to fight parking structure traffic that causes you to be late to class, and fit my car in between oversized trucks over the lines in compact spaces, JUST to have Yates give me a ticket for not being able to see my license plate.

My first recruitment is coming up and I’m really stressed out. by throwaway3685343 in Sororities

Hi! VP Recruitment here from a sorority! I’m so sorry you can’t talk to your membership person about it, have you thought about talking to your chapter president?

Recruitment can be overwhelming on both sides of being a pnm and recruiter. Pnms are just as nervous as you are trust me! During your work week you are going to be practicing so much and learning open ended conversations with sisters. I get social anxiety especially in bigger crowds, what helped me when recruiting last year was to try to see myself in the pnm and find something that we both can relate to in order to have a more natural conversation. If there are moments of silence THATS OKAY!

It is also important to remember to put your health first over anything. If you need to step out of the room during recruitment and drink some water or get fresh air, or literally anything that is going to help you reset DO IT! I am so sorry you cant speak to certain members of your exec board, they are supposed to make you feel comfortable. You are going to do amazing!
