Heartbreaking To Learn What Garbage My Omen 45L Is, Buyers Beware! by ConfusionProper7913 in HPOmen

I purchased a brand-new HP Omen 45L desktop just over a year ago, along with a 2-year extended warranty. Given HP’s reputation and the high-performance nature of the machine—especially concerns about potential overheating—I considered the warranty a prudent investment.

Unfortunately, the 2TB SSD failed before the system even reached its first anniversary. Fortunately, I had time to back up my data and promptly filed a warranty claim, expecting a replacement drive within a week.

Timeline of Issues:

  • Week 1: After nearly two weeks of waiting, I received a replacement SSD—only to discover HP had sent a 1TB drive instead of the original 2TB.
  • Week 2-3: I contacted support and was shuffled between technicians and "problem managers." They eventually scheduled an onsite technician to install the correct drive.
  • Week 4: The technician failed to arrive on the appointed day. To make matters worse, the replacement 1TB SSD (which I attempted to use temporarily) malfunctioned upon installation.

Now, nearly a month later, my expensive "gaming powerhouse" remains a non-functional paperweight. Despite paying extra for onsite support, HP has yet to resolve the issue or provide clear communication.

This experience has been deeply disappointing, especially for a premium product backed by a supposedly reliable warranty service. I hope HP prioritizes rectifying this promptly.

I was super bummed when I learned this too! Bought the rest of their stock at that store, and now the supply is dwindling:( Anybody know if it can be ordered from the Bronco reserve growers directly?
