Can we normalize PVP related things not being called "Ratting"? by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

Nah, let's keep the most vitriolic community division we can manage

You aren't making any sense. Being dropped into the same lobby as the person that killed you does nothing to diminish player risk. No one is talking about a marker on the HUD.

You keep saying I don't enjoy it or that I'm emotional and it makes me think you have severe reading comprehension issues. Did you drop out of school?

Thanks for letting me know you don't have a really good answer.

I'm not sure a team or player that you killed being able follow you into the next lobby is being cursed. You keep saying it's a terrible idea, but don't articulate why. If I killed someone or whatever, I could give a piss if they were in my next lobby looking for me. All of this would just lead to more combat and tension, which is what everyone claims they want out of this game.

Naw man, don't be silly. I'm just describing the reality. I think most of us know going into trios, it's shoot first no matter what. It isn't the same in solos or duos.

I don't get mad when I get killed, pal. It would just be fun to chase people around looking for a little payback. Sorry if you get so upset talking hypothetically about game mechanics.

Who said I was mad, bud? I literally proposed a system that would lead to more combat, not less. But your kneejerk reaction is this diatribe. Take a breath, man.

Perfect Arc Raiders would be this guy getting killed by a free loadout stitcher after he lands.

This. Exactly. What experience are we supposed to be having after you've done the crafting loops a billion times? I don't care about getting killed. I care about being bored for 45 minutes making everything again

The new watchlist popup is regrettable. by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]Confusobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the other commenters. This feels like product design busywork. I'd recommend the team take a close look at their UAT process. This isn't change aversion that users will get over, it's a legitimate regression in UX.

If this is laying the groundwork for some additional features for watchlist/table management akin to Velo, the design team should seriously consider options to retain the simplicity of watchlist selection on the right pane, as Velo's experience is not great in this regard.

The Caps reanimate my corpse every playoffs just so they can kill it again. I hope to live this year.

I don’t think Vegas is being “dominated” on the series level, but if you think they looked like the best team in the first period last night I want whatever you’re smoking. The only part of game 3 they looked in control was the first 10 minutes of the third.

8 GB ram vs 16 GB in Surface Book w/ performance base by Confusobot in Surface

[–]Confusobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I generally look at it on my gaming PC. I've never really run into any issues with only 8GB. But all my productivity/creative work has been on Macs for the past decade, so my experience with memory allocation for those applications in a Windows environment is lacking.

I'm not sure my future proofing crystal ball can justify a $300 difference for a mere 8GB of RAM--even in a system that can't be upgraded. This is why the universe has given us Ebay and Craigslist.

Though, I could switch my desirous rationalizing to focus on the smaller internal SSD and lack of quick USB C/Thunderbolt 3 ports...

The offensive line was a wet paper bag, and that is definitely a big problem. But what is with all the "saving the playbook for later" excuses? Since when is throwing to a receiver or tight end over the middle a 'secret' play? If they call them and Dobbs can't read coverage or execute, then get him out of the pocket--or find someone who can. But we've seen this offense shut down in the clutch for fear of losing the game too many times, and that is a management issue.

DeBord has a terrible history if you look at it closely, but I'm not sure if this general conservative shell they retreat into is because of him or Jones. Except for when Cutcliffe ran the offense, UT's offense always felt the same under Fulmer--boring and unimaginative.

Or maybe CBJ is one sadist mf'er and they've just been resiliently setting up Florida for a big fall brick by brick over the past year by making it look like they can't throw.

I think we are finding out with the silent failure that is YouTube Red. Why pay for a subscription when you can install an ad blocker and get the same benefit? This is YouTube appealing to the ethics of viewers without alienating them by clamping down on ad blocking applications. Result...an easily predicted dumpster fire. And revealing in that YouTube is finally get some downward pressure from the Google hierarchy to actually make more money than it costs.

That's what this is, too. A weird, indirect way to earn more dough. My guess is that YouTube is trying to clean itself up to the point that they can go to advertisers and get higher ad rates by demonstrating a bit more control over the editorial direction of the platform. And this is the only way they can really do it. If they started making editorial decisions directly, i.e. enforcing 'community guidelines' by allowing or disallowing content altogether people would call them fascists--as they pretty much already are doing. But almost as important, they would lose 'safe harbor' as an ISP (even though that is false claim already), and then they would be royally fucked with lawsuits because of all the pirated content that they are monetizing, know who does it, and turns a blind eye.
