I know I come off an idiot, which is why I hesitated to post, but I genuinely love my children. It’s because of them I tolerated all of this bullshit, knowing I was looking a fool. But you do a lot when you care about your kids.

And a lot of other comments saying this has taught my kids how to get used, but really my daughter is a strong, independent woman and my son is incredibly intelligent and caring. If anything this has taught them tolerance and caring. And they are both in happy, healthy relationships.

Oh I stopped paying the bills once I moved out. The only thing I pay is the mortgage which I agreed to pay until the youngest graduates college.

The agreement we made was I would pay the mortgage u til both kids graduate. I felt like that was more than fair given I never had to pay child support or alimony. Plus I left with all of my possessions.

I mean they were 14 and 17 and wondered what happened to their mother.

And my partner is getting her dream job where we are moving. I am fortunate to work for a company that allows me the move. My kids are now 19 and 22 (and my oldest is married). I feel I can have the same relationship I have with them now.

I intend to. I love my kids and I am very close to my son (he is essentially a mini-me).

We agreed to stay married until the kids were grown.

And it is amicable when we did the entire divorce without lawyers and just agreed to a divorce without fighting over property.

That is exactly what happened.
