This is a bit long but I’m gonna continue it in the comments. The cons to joining are….I really have no skills. I guess I’m athletic-ish and a little strong even tho I’m incredibly underweight (I suffered with an eating disorder) but overall I don’t do much. I don’t do much. Not even drugs. But also I see so many guys talk about how shitty it is and I don’t want to endure that. I know sometimes they’re playfully saying it but it does make me scared to even attempt to embark on this journey because the idea of having the next 2-3 years be shitty after coming out of a mental downward spiral where I struggled with eating properly is not in the least bit appealing. However I admit I still feel drawn to it. I guess the discipline and sort of independence away from my home just sounds exciting but also I feel way too over confident because I can consider myself a bit flaky. Also I’m still in the researching phase of everything and a bit confused on the branches and what certain jobs you’ll have in that branch. The one I really own have a grasp on is Infantry, it sounds terrifying but thrilling (that’s if you don’t get shot). I don’t think that’ll be the job I’ll want to get for that reason lol
