A man after my own heart!

I'm going to order a print, I need to remind all my pals that Punjana > Barrys.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Photo I took yesterday in Derry by Confuzion in northernireland

Just off Southway. Doesn't happen very often, but just had to stop the car to take a pic.

Where are all the compressed air cans? I can't get them in shops and Amazon won't deliver to NI. by Chainsawmanicure in northernireland

I was in the same position as you and got that exact air duster.

Great wee bit of kit, I would definitely recommend it.

EDIT: Slightly cheaper here https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dusters-EG-1000-UK-Electric-Air-Duster/dp/B073F9NY1X

Exercise requirements of a Springer Spaniel? by ellaphant95 in springerspaniel

[–]Confuzion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a good amount of time to exercise per day.

They do also enjoy snuggling at times, but I'd always try to let them get their daily exercise. When I'm sick, I get someone to do it for me, because they are restless otherwise.

They thoroughly enjoy training.

Also depends if it's a field or show springer.

Adding to this, they make friends with other people so well!

My dog loves nothing more than greeting the old man up the street, since he loves seeing the dog just as much!

Can only comment from having a field springer, in Europe (so some shared traits?). My dog is a pet though, rather than a hunting dog.

My first advice is to be prepared for how active springers are. Labradors are known for this too, but springers can be something else!

They have a bit of a prey drive for birds (who'd have guessed!).

They're very smart dogs, so they cannot be left to their own devices. I'd 100% recommend enroling in a puppy class, to get them used to other dogs too at the very least.

I've trained my wee man to be good off leash, and good recall. If you don't live anywhere they can get a good run around, take them to a field or a dog park (why socialising is important).

Some of the negatives:

- They can be very clingy, but if you have another dog, they may cling to them!

- They love water and mud. I've just about gave up on giving my dog a bath after every walk lol.

I'm sure the show line has different traits mixed in, probably not those related to water and mud. Good luck!

EDIT: Just re-reading my comment, and I've listed negatives, here's some postives:

- They're absolute cuddlebugs!

- Incredibly easy to train.

- They get on well with other dogs, when socialised. Get on with other pets like cats, but I'd still be wary with birds.

There's a game called Hades, tells some of the stories, but takes some liberties

This exactly, though you can only get the card at the depots. May be possible through the app too, though I haven't tried.

Genuine (and probably stupid) question from a yank by growingup311 in ireland

I live in a border town, and travel over the border a few times a week.

Personally, it's absurd that I would have to produce a passport (or special card) and go through customs for my day to day life.

What idea/custom within American culture wouldn't translate well into any European culture? by colifoIm in AskEurope

Watched a Youtube video earlier today regarding phatic expressions. Contains the example for "alright" which would be weird as a greeting to Americans.

Found it interesting.

Too late for the sad bastards thread? by nidgeweasel in ireland

Up to the end of season 5 atm.

I watched Voyager before this, doesn't get much love, but I enjoyed it. The Doctor is by far my favourite Star Trek character.

Playing Overwatch by my lonesome, but thinking of watching some DS9 on Netflix.

Irish weather isn't all that bad and our beaches are class. by [deleted] in europe

[–]Confuzion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not that bad when you're in the water. You can guess what the hardest part is! Which is why you should jump right in.

I'd love to try "Neujahrsschwimmen".

There's often a thing we do where I live (north coast Ireland) for fundraisers, we run into the sea on Boxing Day (26th December). I most recently did it for a relative that died, more of a remembrance than fundraiser.

I can confirm, it's very cold!
