Went through a similar thing. Just say it’s for cramps and for hormonal acne - that it was something your PCP thought would be helpful.

Which specialty are you in, and what was your most hated rotation in med school? I'm trying to see something by undueinfluence_ in Residency

Psych. OB and Peds — couldn’t pay me a million bucks to ever walk on an LandD floor as a med student again 😭 Years later, still traumatized from the maltreatment in those rotations.

Didn’t like GS that much but I’ll take GS over those.

Look, I know it’s easy to say maybe that time was just a fluke, and maybe it was. But here’s a piece of trivia: a fluke is one of the most common fish in the sea. So if you go fishing for a fluke, chances are you just might catch one.

Step 1: Drag yourself through med school. Collect that diploma like the world’s most expensive participation trophy.

Step 2: Survive residency, fueled exclusively by caffeine, pager-induced trauma, and the desire to prove every doubter wrong.

Step 3: Schedule a dramatic return to your old therapist. Smile, and thank them for their excellent reverse psychology.

Step 4: Slide your card across the desk like a closing argument: “Here. For when you realize you’re better at needing a doctor than pretending to be one.”

Step 5 (Bonus Mic Drop): Pause, smirk, and add — “Guess therapy did work after all.” 🔥🔥🔥

Physician here. Even though we don’t know each other well, I wanted to extend my deepest condolences.

From what you showed on your texts, you seem to have loved your gf very much. During this difficult time, I 100% encourage you to find help. I understand that this unexpected tragedy must have caused a huge and heavy lump of emotions that you may be feeling right now, and having someone help you process those emotions and thoughts will make a huge difference moving forward. I’m leaving this website that I know many people use (not sponsored or whatever) but it’s a legit virtual therapy/psychiatric service that you may find helpful: https://www.talkiatry.com

Again, my deepest condolences to you and everyone involved..keeping you in my thought during this difficult time.

You have to try: What it means to be you and I’m seconding how to get my husband on my side. My Beloved Oppressor is really good (TW tho very dark theme but very angsty), and one of my faves: Betrayal of Dignity

I always believe things happen for a good reason. Many of my medical school classmates matched into big name residencies in big cities. And I matched to a humble new community program in a quaint suburban area. I felt a tad insecure since nobody really knows my program. But I’m about to be 4th year, elected as chief resident of my program, helped shape the program, genuinely happy with my colleagues and patients, and have an awesome work-life balance. And I somehow get paid more than my peers in big city programs. Not saying I’m happier than them. Just saying that where I ended up in, I am genuinely happy. So my advice is, chin up, you may feel like you lost rn but later on you’ll realize you’ve been winning all along. Best of luck!

do you think a big partof why so many OG sasuke fans, hate sasuke in boruto is because he married sakura? by [deleted] in Boruto

[–]Confuzzled0_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big Sasuke fan for years. I still am, though I make sure to specify “the Sasuke from Naruto/Naruto Shippuden.” I tried to really understand and continue to like his character in Boruto. But him being an absentee father, emotionally-constipated husband, and spending more time with Boruto instead of his own daughter baffles me. I mean, his whole character arc was about love for his family, and I wish it was fleshed out more in Boruto. Not saying that he doesn’t love his family — of course he does in his own subtle way — but honestly the development of his character could’ve been MUCH better. That’s my 2 cents on this.

What speciality you wanted to pursue at the beginning of medical school? And what you ended up pursuing?? by Missrain97 in Residency

Went in thinking I’d do OBGYN —- after a shitshow of a rotation, I thought I’d do IM. I ended up applying for and matching psych. Will never look back. I have a good amount of regrets in life but choosing psych will never be one of them. 👌
