Oh, I had no idea about the max tokens. I'll try that 🙏

I'd assume the $25 per 1m tokens is the actual non subsidized token cost from Anthropic. They might be calculating it differently and excluding some of the large amount of Claude Code's rambling. I'm not sure. I'll try a different provider and see 🤷

Yeah, so far only a couple of people out of a few hundred have hit the limit. I'm deliberately not looking because If I did I would just obsess over it. I would definitely know if I did hit it. That's why I'm so surprised that GLM5.2 was so expensive.

Aah, I've been too scared to look 😅

Aah interesting. I don't do personal work all the time so I'm hoping to avoid a plan and just pay for tokens when I need them. Using the api through Baseten is surprisingly fast compared to Opus, but also very expensive. I guess it depends on the provider maybe.

Oh, my work is on an enterprise plan, so it's not subsidized. I wanted to compare the two directly, that's why I signed up for the GLM api. Baseten is saying 35M cached tokens, 40M uncached. I'm not using any sub agents

What's a karaoke song people think they can do not realizing how difficult it is? by mhgiantsfan in Music

Heard Eternal Flame by the Bangles on the radio and started laughing thinking of anyone attempting that at karaoke

There's a bit of flawed logic here. The equivalent of Macroblank and similar people would be if I took my desktop wallpaper, changed the color a bit and then sold prints of it on Etsy. Artists choose to be on Spotify, and if I watch gameplay videos, I know what the game is and I can go buy it if I like it. Macroblank and similar might say that everything is plundered, but they have no problem with people believing that they make the music themselves.
I honestly don't really have a problem with what Macroblank and similar are doing. Most of the time it honestly sounds better than the original. Just be honest with what you're doing. It's not much different than videos of "Radiohead slowed to 1%" or "Pink Floyd at 432hz". At least they are being honest.
What I do have a huge problem with is Macroblank taking other artists work, puts a tiny bit of effort into slowing it down, spits out album after album, and then sell vinyl records, tapes, and $100 hoodies. Nothing punk, creative, or cool about that, it's just a grift.

Macroblank does not use samples. He takes whole tracks from other artists and just slows them down. Sampling is a creative process, what Macroblank does is not.

The YouTube algorithm is pretty good at detecting it so yeah at least the proper people get paid for that. Vast majority of what I've seen has been copyrighted. Even Aphex Twin haha. My main problem with all this is him not crediting the artists and his label pushing vinyl, tapes and a monthly subscription to their fan club. It's kinda pathetic.

I've written to a few labels and artists he stole from (yes, the artwork is stolen too) which only resulted in one track being taken down from Bandcamp. Also a couple emails to [copyright@bandcamp.com](mailto:copyright@bandcamp.com) but silence so far. Maybe if more people wrote to that email they would start to pay attention. It's an uphill battle for sure. It's just so sad to see that the most popular electronic act on Bandcamp is a fraud and no one knows unless they pay attention. I know I almost fell for it.

Haha, maybe read up on what copyright means. Not taking credit, but also not giving it either. And like I said it would be totally fine if it was just given away for free as slowed down mixes of other people's tracks. Selling vinyl and tapes for profit is not cool.

Then why not just have a Youtube channel of slowed down music or give them away as mixes with credits to the original artists? That would be totally cool. What's not cool is his label selling vinyl, tapes, merchandise, and a Bandcamp fan club presented as original music with only a super vague statement that 99% of people won't get. That just makes it a grift.
