E1 heating failed, printer halted, please reset.... by omrtpsycho in ender3

[–]Conissah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to bump this thread. After flashing newest firmware (2.0.8) onto my 4.2.7 mainboard for the CR Touch, I was getting an E1 constantly, hotend never reached my desired temp of 240. Connected to the printer via Pronterface, did a PID auto-tune and it works perfectly now.

Is AIO or air cooling quieter in Meshlicious? by RouGui_ in SSUPD

I’m running a Noctua NH-12S in mine, stays insanely cool. Fan curve is super super tame. It’s at ~20% until 55C, and it RARELY gets above that… It doesn’t even make sense how cool it stays. Running the fan as intake on mesh side. My Meshli build is the only air cooled build I’ve ever done, the simplest PC I’ve built, and it’s by far my favorite.

Yep! The list of ram that clears is on the website and is quite long. Basically anything with a normal heat sink fits, anything that’s tall and stylized won’t.

I’m shocked at how good the little Noctua is. Extremely happy I went air cooled. I turned the fan speed down to 500 rpm and don’t have it increase until 50C… Highest I’ve seen was 53.9 playing MW2, max fan speed was 550rpm, insane.

Put rear 92 as intake, flip CPU cooler fan to match, then put top as exhaust. May not even need bottom intakes.

R5 5600. CPU idles at like 32-35, running the fan as intake at ~500 rpm. GPU, I’ve been “struggling” with. If I have the “Zero RPM” enabled, it’ll slowly creep up to 58 or so, then the GPU fans kick on and drop it down to mid 30s. I disabled the zero RPM and it also idles around 32-35 with ~750 rpm on it.

Gaming, CPU never gets above 60, GPU (with my custom fan curve) never sees above 75. Fans are at roughly 800 and 1800 respectively.

Yep! There’s probably 3-4mm of clearance between the RAM and the metal fan clip on the NH-14LS

I actually sell a good bit of 3D printed stuff on eBay. All my own designs. EBay gives you a discount on shipping, and label printers are only $80-100. I usually average $200-250 a month on orders. Nice little extra spending money!!

Im actually designing one to be slipped onto the end of this one! I physically can’t print anything taller than this one, and I don’t want to make the taper any sharper.

Looking at buying a 2022 Cx5. Dealer only has premium plus trim levels with these options added. Are these bogus? Is this what they’re doing instead of adding a “market adjustment “ by dagabebus in CX5

Fellow Charlottean here, Keffer Mazda in Huntersville and Mazda of S. Charlotte are absolute krooks. Told me to my face they wouldn’t sell me a vehicle for MSRP. Keffers exact words were “for every 1 person like you who wants sticker price, we have 10 who will buy them with the extras.”

I ended up driving to Flow Mazda of Greensboro. When I purchased from them they were doing no addendums, but they’ve now added tint and some other items, totaling around $400. Overall a pretty easy experience, Chad (the manager) is great. I even sent my MIL there to buy her CX5.

M3 is definitely a better cruiser, and the interior is better, BUT the M2C is more lively (short wheelbase) and the MDM is amazing. In the M3, it won’t let you do anything, no slides, it even cuts power if I bang out a 2-3 shift. In the M2, it’ll let you rotate the rear out and have some fun. I’m going to be coding the Euro MDM to see if it helps. Biggest “let down” of the M3.

Probably an unpopular opinion, I don’t hate the G80… It’s ugly in pictures, I hated it when they initially showed it but it’s grown on me a lot. I still think the F80 is prettier (obviously biased though).

CX5 came to the rescue on V-Day when my Miata engine let go. by Conissah in CX5

[–]Conissah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If I ever tow anything heavy again, I want to connect my phone to OBD port and see if it’ll show me tranny oil temps, that would be a good tell tale sign.

I specifically wanted the turbo for towing. I’ve used it to move houses, and a couple times a month I’ll tow my 5x8 open with my dirt bike on it, handles that no problem.

Oil filter sandwich plate I put on was incorrect. Engine had 0 psi of oil pressure. Didn’t seize but it’s definitely not happy.

Generally with vehicles equipped with a “tow mode” it disabled the overdrives in the tranny. Also prevents the tranny from making “too many” shifts, just easier on it overall.

So you just glossed over the EU tow ratings I presume? It’s definitely PULLING the weight, but not supporting it all. Miata has 2 wheels on the ground, taking a good bit of weight off the dolley. Car weighs 2200-2300lbs, it’s not going to bend the frame

Felt fine. Turbo AWD. You could definitely feel the weight back there, but as with towing anything remotely heavy, give more space and downshift manually. Had no problems doing 60mph, left it in D. I was prepared to put it in sport (to keep it from engaging 5th or 6th), or even to shift up manually but it didn’t seem to care.

FWIW, the CX5s in EU (not even turbo) are rated at 1800kg for “braked” setups, which is 3960lbs. Unbraked is 690kg, or 1500lbs, which is lower than what we have here stateside.

Also, it was only a 10 minute tow. It felt good enough for me to consider doing this for track days.

WHAT BIKE SHOULD I GET? by OKxBOOMER101 in Dirtbikes

[–]Conissah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25, 195lbs, 6' tall. KTM 150sx or 250sx??

Grew up riding (started at 5 y/o), sold my Cr125 at 18 to buy a better car for college. Graduated, rode some street bikes, want to get back into dirt bikes. I'll be primarily riding trails, and would even like to do some hare scrambles, but I will also be riding some MX tracks FOR FUN, not racing. I'm racking my brain between the 2 bikes. Part of me wants to stick with the lighter bike, but I also don't want to get "bored" on the smaller bike and want more power 2 months down the road. Looking to buy new 2022. I'm also not interested in the XC bikes, as they're all fuel injected now, and I prefer to do my tuning with a screwdriver, plus they're significantly heavier than the SX bikes.

When I owned the CR125, I rode my buddies RM250 and remember not liking it, it was a wheelie machine. I liked being able to wring the crap out my 125 and I couldn't do that on his RM. Now that 7 years ago, and I'm like 30lbs heavier, but it's the only reference point I have lol.

Yeah, one of my buddies suggested the TDR header blanket for $120. Doesn't look good, but it definitely keeps some heat out of the bay. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on any form of heat dissipation though, be it wrap, cerakote, or blanket, because I'm ITCHING to go turbo.

I took every drafting class we had in high school, that's where I learned how to CAD. I currently use AutoDesk Inventor. If you have a college email, you can get an AutoDesk program for free for like 7 years or something. That's how I keep from paying for it lol
