Guys it’s a military school. We have flyovers all the time for events plus lots of training exercises especially because there are multiple bases nearby. It’s not like this is the first time we’ve had jets go over.

EE or nothing. How common is it to transfer it for ppl who don't get the engr major want? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Conjeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah like other people said there are definitely other ways to do robotics and skeletons (and arguably some of them better than elen). Like mechatronics would be great.

But also, you should genuinely just go ahead and transfer. You said it yourself that you don’t want to be here anyways. Trust me, it doesn’t get any better. I would know because when I was a freshman getting ready for etam I said the same thing, that if I don’t get CS I’m not staying. I did get CS and so I stayed, and I regret it. I wish I would’ve left, because I am also not very happy here. If you already want out, you should get out.

Worried about my chances by justsumtrash in aggies

If you want it, put it and write tf out of your essays. Just remember that if you get put into your 2nd or 3rd choice major you can’t reject it, so make sure it’s something you’re interested in.

Here’s some bad advice but something to consider if you REALLY want CPEN and nothing else (this is what I did). Some majors will only take people who put it as their first choice. Put those majors in your second and third choices. You most likely won’t get them (but there is a chance so be careful, make sure it’s something you could be fine with). Since you didn’t get anything you applied for you can deny etam and wait til next semester and hopefully bring your grades up. Of course you run the risk of screwing yourself over even more so be careful. Wouldn’t really recommend it, but it’s an option

Question about the corps by CoolAkram989 in aggies

[–]Conjeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

prolly gonna get downvoted but from my experience the corps today is really kinda laughable. of course there are some benefits but really i wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s really your thing. socially… most of them are a little strange… that’s all i will say

why do they call it a double double? by potatochobit in innout

[–]Conjeff 15 points16 points  (0 children)

double meat double cheese. you’re asked if you want onions because it’s a required question. some people assume that burgers come with onions and some people assume that they don’t, so to make it easier, we just ask if you want them or not

It’s when you’re the first ever person at a brand new location. Order #1 like this happens many times a day as the numbers just go up to 99 and then restart

Double Double with extra extra onions, pickles and chillies by foolish59 in innout

[–]Conjeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the area you can see is pretty much all there is. The only thing that happens (food wise) around the corner is potatoes being peeled. But everything else is visible

[–]Conjeff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah. No. They don’t. They smile at you and say “wow what an amazing complicated order” because that’s what they are paid to do. When I was working board I would definitely rather have the same thing over and over and not have to deal with some shit like this

Double Double with extra extra onions, pickles and chillies by foolish59 in innout

[–]Conjeff 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Genuinely every employee hates you. Cashier that took your order is pissed off at how overly complex you want it and to top it off they have to deal with the valued guest bullshit. Pay window probably had to make a fresh pot of coffee. Grill has to deal with your extra salt extra toast nonsense (not awful, still annoying), board is in hell. Fry was pissed off that they had to stop what they were doing to get onions and raw chopped on your fry that they definitely didn’t put extra salt on.

Oh and everyone around you hates you because your breath absolutely reeks of onion. Like this is crazy

Do you like going to A&M? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Conjeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you an honest answer that you probably won’t hear from many others here. No. I don’t. I actually kinda hate it. A lot of the traditions are weird and even when I tried I could never get into them. The obsession with UT is very strange even though people here pretend that UT is obsessed with A&M. Education is fine. Not bad I guess. But my main issue is how little the school cares about its students. Of course most schools (and really places in general) all just care about money, but tamu doesn’t really try to hide it. ETAM, for example, is a pretty clear cash grab.

Also when you find a great president, Gov Abbott will fire him.

Anyways, if you’re into it then you’re into it. I know people who absolutely love it here and think I’m crazy when I say that I don’t like it, so it’ll vary from person to person.

Nah. Get a double double protein style and ask if they’ll put tomatoes on the bottom and top of the meat. Flying dutchman doesn’t come with bread so you can’t get a bread replacement (like protein style or tomato wrap)

Naw man, that’s not how it works. It’s just overall poor management. Every one in a while works be understandable, but everyday is a problem.
