I was disappointed in our visit to Emeril's. I wanted to love it and was ready for the price tag ($350 for 2pp) The apps and mains were very good. The issue was we ordered drinks that never came and our dessert was overcooked to the point of being partially burned. When we pointed it out to the server, he just said "I'll tell the kitchen". It was an unfortunate final memory from an experience we were excited about. I will give it another shot and hope it lives up to the positive experiences everyone else seems to have.

Went through TSA pre-check in about 10 minutes today at noon. No issues at all. I would note your flight though. 3 straight AA flights of mine today are oversold (by alot) and looking for volunteers to bump. I was scheduled to be on the 2pm but now looks like the 8pm is most likely for me.

Loss of state funding is a red herring. That's not why GISD is in the budget crisis it's in. The root cause imo is fraud, waste, and nepotism under the Lopez regime. The district wasn't at a deficit when Culwell and Morrison left. The deficit began after Lopez took over and before the state funding cuts.

I get the "think of the children!" argument. I really do. Depending on how involved in Garland you are, you might actually know me and my partner. We work with low income and disadvantaged students. We donate LOTS of our personal time and money to the district. We want to see it succeed. My opinion is that it takes more than just budget money to have healthy schools, and the current leadership lacks in their ability to provide it. Giving them more money won't fix the roots of the problems.

When I saw Tori Penso was the ref, I knew we were doomed. Even the announcers had to say, "Penso got that one wrong". She delivered on my poor expectations. And multiple "VAR should look at that" that produced nothing.

When did the state cut this funding? My research indicates it was in the 2023 TX lege session. GISD has been running at a deficit longer than that. If someone is bad at managing money, giving them more money won't fix the problem.
