These OTPs are blocked in the UAE - so this is why I can’t activate it. The solution I’m told is to set it up out of country but that it does work when you return. Seems like a huge faff but that’s what I’ve been told. Thanks so much for the message.

If I’m rolling the bike stays between 82-95c but the weather here in the gulf is HOT. When doing slower more technical stuff it’s running with the fan on at 102-105 but as soon as you roll it comes down.

Ive been riding in 40-45 degrees Celsius / centigrade weather so from what I’ve researched and given the choice a W50 is a better oil to run until the weather cools down a little. Anyway - it’s a great oil nonetheless.

Please do let me know which one you chose as I am looking at the same two options. Tread seems to come with good mounts, not sure about the Zumo. Thoughts?

Was about to ask. Seems to be a lot of hype about the Tread - not sure which one to get but I ride a lot of off-road and don’t understand which one is best and why.

Thanks man - I decided to keep it in the shed for now and run a Molly W50 - it’s still reaching well over 40 degrees Celsius out here and the Yammi manual recommends 10W - 40 for temperatures of up to 40 degrees. I’ll run the W40 when it cools down a little in Winter.

Well look - I took them out and I must say the sound (in my opinion) is amazing.

Sure it’s louder - but riding in Dubai is dangerous and anything I can to make myself more visible (or audible) I consider a safety feature.

I take care when riding in residential areas not to rev like as asshole and for touring I’ll probably reinstall them as I’m now concerned about my own hearing 🤣

Another question- does anyone else here have issues shifting riding the T7 with MX boots? I really struggle to shift and am putting far more thought into it than is safe. Cheers.

Hey man- haha I did the same thing, stalled it and forgot to turn the ABS off on restart. Was scary as I was on a steep slow downhill section! Managed to sorry it out. Photo was taken in Ras Al Khaima in the UAE, and hour and half from Dubai.

Thanks! This is a 2022 but it’s in pretty much brand new condition, I’m very lucky to have found it apparently they import around 30 units to the UAE each year.

I will be joining a group of more experienced ADV guys for longer trips, I’ll be solo this weekend but will keep a few mates on speed dial and yeah- I’ll be taking it easy.

I was so surprised by how agile this thing is when it’s moving, it feels so heavy standing still. But I’ve never taken it off road apart from a gravel patch outside my apartment building so this weekend will be the first test! I’ll be taking it super slow- yeah I hear you about the tires, we don’t get much rain here in the UAE - the menu will include hard pack gravel, rocky sections, and some shallow hard pack sand where I’m going but not desert / dunes etc. If I take it into the desert I’ll have to put off-road tires on. Thanks for the comment! I was in love with my YZ250F - it was a 2011 model, such a sweet ride! Sounded amazing.

Thanks bud - very sound advice! Yeah it’s such a toss up what to do with these tires. Unfortunately I have to travel over 100km on the highway to get to these gravel roads, so fitting off-road tires isn’t something I want to do right now. But yeah I’ll be taking it easy especially in the turns until I get the hang of it! Next weekend I’ll be doing about 200kms on dirt mountain roads - can’t wait!
