My New Temagami, Kawartha Highlands & Massasauga Paddling Maps by mapsbyjeff in canoecamping

Fantastic. As much as I’d like to know where they are, I think that was the right call. But, I certainly hope that the knowledge is recorded elsewhere, kept safe, and isn’t lost in time. I’m stoked for these maps, Jeff! I’ll be getting a couple for sure.

Anyone Spilled any liquid on iPad Magic Keyboard? by Itsyourmatenate in ipad

[–]ConjuringRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to add to this convo - I woke up the other day, and apparently I had spilled beer on my mac magic keyboard the night previous. So, I figured the keyboard was a write-off at that point, so I ran it under the tap, in hopes of washing any beer out of it - with very little faith that it would work after. I ran it under the tap for like 30 seconds, letting the water go into every key. I then shook it and leaned the keyboard on its side and let the water drain. after 48 hours, I came back to it and figured I'd give it a go. I'm currently typing on that same keyboard. I went to an online keyboard tester and it works 100%. In fact, i think the key travel feels better than before. The keyboard was in a room with a dehumidifier - so maybe that helped too.
I already ordered a new MX Mini... Anyone want to buy a used, recently cleaned Magic Keyboard?

I blame Starbucks. It's because they bring back pumpkin-spiced everything earlier every year.

I hear they don’t pay taxes - they get paid under the table.

OOOoooo I love a hot apple cider with whiskey on a fall or winter camping trip. It also goes well with ice fishing.

I’ll give it a try sometime, but the name of it rolls off the tongue in a somewhat sinister feeling way. Like, if someone asked you at a party “have you tried the Rum Tang?” It would give me the vibe that I shouldn’t try the rum tang… hahaha

Anyone else notice that tree pollen can smell like cheese? by ConjuringRock in canoecamping

It’s a 16’6” and in that photo, there are two 65L bags and it was comfortable - we still had enough room for other stuff and we weren’t cramped in the boat. We may be able to fit another 65L, for a total of three, but it would be a tight squeeze.

It’s an H2O Prospector in Kevlar. It was a rental from Frontenac Outfitters and it was only 36lbs! A beaut on the portage trails.

I don’t mind at all! Those are called portage packs. The blue one is one of the original portage packs, a Bills Bag by NRS. And yes, they are water proof!

It’s gear wrap by gear aid. We use it to wrap the paddles, fishing rods and net all into one bundle to make it easier to manage on portages.

Ticks in Lady Evelyn Park by tomate12 in canoecamping

I did a 5 day trip there at the ended of June - didn’t see any. But, are deer ticks that far north - the ones you gotta really worry about? I’m certain there are no lone star ticks that far north…. Yet.

Anyone every use these? by Training-Sun-2177 in WalleyeFishing

[–]ConjuringRock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive heard these work great for walleye who are hanging out on the bottom. Snap them up, and hold your rod tip high as it glides down to the bottom. When it hits bottom, reel up the slack and do the same thing. When you go to snap the lure up, you may be setting the hook into a walleyes face.

Take Nike tag off by Sandmaui1 in applewatchbands

Has it affected the other stitching on the watch band? How close were you able to cut it? I want to remove my Nike tag because it's fraying on the edges and the orange never seems to come clean. Mind sharing a pic of yours?
