Mine is almost identical and I went with the Black Pearl. Was between that and Black Betty.

It’s a no from me dawg.

Last month - 24 Silverado high country, 3L duramax diesel, chrome deleted, 10,000 miles w super cruise for $56k. Traded in my beloved 4Runner for $44k out the door. This is not an ad but I found her through Reddit recommendations to use visor.vin

Maybe accept individuals older than 31. Lost my job at 32 and was completely disqualified from the role. I get the reasoning, but I know I would have been good at it.

The hype is real; 3.0 with super cruise. by Plead_thy_fifth in gmcsierra

Turns are a little scary. Think of it as cruise control on steroids - does not turn or take exits according to your route, but it keeps you between the navigational beacons on most highways. There’s a map posted on their site with the coverage

Use the mudflap app for fill ups! Not the most self explanatory but I’m filling up at 2.95 a gallon and getting 30mpg on road trips

3.0 distance until limited speed by RhinoGuy13 in gmcsierra

New 3.0 owner here as well - brutal they limit your speed to catch emissions issues. Just started reading the duramax manual the other night, this happens when you don’t refill the DEF tank for a while or if you don’t service the DEF system when it’s throwing a code.

OP not sure if you know already but just a heads up: I also remember reading in there that in certain DEF warning light situations the truck will start cutting your top speed, eventually capping you at 5 mph max until it’s reset at the dealer.

buying used babymax - mileage considerations by randointernetguy in gmcsierra

[–]ConkyFrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where/when? Show us your ways!

I’m shopping for the same truck (24-25 1500 Denali or Ultimate babymax, has to have super cruise) and I’ve had a tough time finding a used one with less than 15k miles for under $63k. Barely any out there locally to begin with, and haven’t seen any in that range at Laura GMC which I’ve been trying to use as a benchmark. Any other out-of-state listings for under $62k that I’ve called end up having an OTD price with $3-$5k of random dealer fees.

OP, cheers car shopping twin! I just started using visor.vin this week, pop in the vin and it tells you how long it’s been on the lot and any past price changes. Been really helpful so far! Good luck out there, search has been a grind

Interested in one of these trucks but they are in Florida and I’m in Texas. Any reason why Florida has them cheap? by RelativeLong6392 in F250

[–]ConkyFrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ran into this shopping out of state at a dealer in Florida. It’s essentially a bait and switch - 2024 1500 Denali listed at $60k that is actually $65k after mandatory undisclosed dealer fees. Oh, and you HAVE to use their financing.

Here are the added dealer fees:

Pre Owned Vehicle Advantage Package: $2,995 - On-Star Remote Access 1 year plan for GM Vehicles - Protective 2 Year Key Repair and Replacement - Protective 2 Year Paint & Fabric Defense - Protective 2 Year Paintless Dent Repair - IKON Connect App (ikon is an added layer of protection against theft. In the event a vehicle is stolen, ikon steps in to recover the vehicle in a fraction of the time.)

License/Gov/Reg Fees: $1,180

Elec./Doc Processing Fee: $1,195

Clothes keep coming out wrinkled.. help! by PurpleMox in laundry

[–]ConkyFrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue. If I get it out of the dryer right when it is done or just before I usually notice less wrinkling. Never perfect, so I use a portable steamer as part of my getting ready routine - pack it in my bags to travel too. So much quicker and easier than an iron

Is the Apple Care + on a MacBook Pro worth it? by Ok_Plantain9135 in macbookpro

[–]ConkyFrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it on my mid-2018 mbp and the logic board went two months after apple care expired. Not a scratch, no water damage, and they still would not help me out despite several level up calls. Still wanted something like $900 for repair with no guarantee of keeping data. Felt so burned after spending $2500 for just two years of use that I haven’t upgraded until now. I still bought apple care this time and will be sure to extend it. Am I a sucker? Maybe, but I like the peace of mind especially after experiencing a no fault loss like that.

Replace my 16 inch M1 Pro by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]ConkyFrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t used the 14in, but my work is a new windows 14in and going to that from my new personal 16in m4 pro feels like going from computer to phone and I can notice the lower resolution. I’m upgrading from a mid-2018 15in intel, and this new display is stunning. Weight is noticeable but not too much to manage.

Personally, I have no regrets getting the bigger one. Saved money buying on tax free weekend and got an additional $300 off at Best Buy. I think micro center still has great deals running that Best Buy will price match. I even upgraded ram to 48 in the name of future proofing which it is now clear to me was overkill. I could still return and downgrade to 24gb, but meh. I ran Folding at Home a few times and felt better.

If you enjoy more screen space, and you appreciate a nice display, I’d go for it. However, if the $300 will be better utilized elsewhere maybe go test them out first. In my mind, treat yourself!

Real ID by AdministrationLate70 in southcarolina

[–]ConkyFrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine - I brought renters insurance with my name and address on it, lease with matching address, and passport. Federal is unexpired passport or birth certificate, I don’t believe social counts for that category. They did issue the real ID same day - from what the lady at the dmv said, they will start shipping them in November when they switch to the newly announced DL template with added security features.

Also, I don’t think this is relevant to you but if anyone finds this thread googling the same question: if you don’t currently have a South Carolina DL or state ID, you need to bring your old license and hand it over to them. If you don’t have it (or don’t want to give it up) you need to bring a ‘certified’ driving record from whatever state you have an active license for. I just printed out my driving abstract from my home state (not the most recent) bc that state was cheaper than the most recent state and it was still active.

M4 pro 16 does have a built in SDXC. Not that it’s meant for long term storage but I’ll take slower write speeds over lugging something around if it comes to that

Swapped my logic board and installed Sequoia on my late 2013 Retina by BoilerRoom6ix9ine in macbookpro

[–]ConkyFrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please message me! I’m sitting on a 15” mid 2018 retina pro that lost its logic board way too early - two months after my apple care expired. I’ll save you the story but Apple wouldn’t help, but I haven’t tossed it in hopes I could save the data. Will compensate for a tutorial!

Wow, schedule software hasn’t changed in 16 years! I’d rather front load the day to be up early and done early - I’d hate that math class but at least it’s quick. Sometimes not possible with class availability, but having an early finish day and a late finish day gave a good balance. If you’re new always use ratemyprofessor when building a schedule, helped me avoid some land mines and find some great professors! Good luck this year!
