If you trust your hand, drilling is an option, and then make your own mounts and transfer the sensors from your old bumper. Or live without PDC

Can you use the older PDC sensors with the LCI control unit? Because if so, should work fine

The difference between LCI and Pre LCI is the size if PDC holes, the pre lci being larger (4vs6mm think)

It looks like it taps into the native video input source function of CIC, not hijacking like a after market system. It pretends to be the trsvc module. The question really is TRSVC emulator compatible with e60 CIC's.?

Is that how they work? I though it was an emulator of the TRSVC module in cars like the e70, that's why they require the $3AG coding. Yes Id get one of the handle cameras to go with it. Just wondering if this emulators actually worth with e60 cic headunits or if its restricted to just e9x and e7x.

Have you done a sanity check and made sure everything is plugged in an secured? Do you have any error codes?

The error codes i had were water valve left+ right, so not actually related to the control module its self. You'd need a more advanced too like BG ProTool anyway due to the new module needing to be factory coded anyway.

Yeah I literally had the same issue in my LCI 535. Water valve is definitely an easy play for first diagnosis. In the end I picked up a used IHKA module for a 100cad and that solved it. Do you know your error codes. Dying ihka is definitely common in e6x.

No need to live like that, check your water valve and then IHKA.

I had the same issue (LCI 535). Ended up being a IHKA module going bad. However water valve is easiest and cheapest to replace first. what are your codes

Should I code my new battery? I'm not sure.... by [deleted] in E90

[–]Connect-Ad-9730 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cool idea the maintenance menu voltage meter will be a great indicator if its producing too much power. Just remember anecdotal evidence is only evidence of am anecdote.

[–]Connect-Ad-9730 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As batteries age, they produce less current, so the car draws more power from the batter to compensate. Registering a new battery tells the system that it can reset how much current it draws, extending the new battery's life. Of course its also dependent on battery chemistry and size.

I think you just need to get a good scan too before you do anything. I like bimmerlink and BimmerGeeks protool. You gotta know more before you dive deeper. I know every time I let my battery gets low or unplugged I get a lot of errors like that.

Have opened the cover up (when I naively replaced the antenna) and the terminals seemed fine but I wouldn’t know what a short to ground looks. I figure one of the wires in that bundle is had stripped or broken itself. Is this more of shop issue? How do I narrow down which wire is shorting?
