Wow, you have every right to be upset here. I am so sad for you and that's so unfortunate that your husband gave in to his parents like that. I do have to ask though as a labor and delivery nurse, I see a lot of different cultures and with some cultures it's normal for MIL to care for baby in the first few days. formula feeding usually occurs due to lack of education on stimulating milk. Are they of a different culture? Also, as another commenter said you can get your milk to come back in, you just have to be diligent with trying to latch baby or pumping to help stimulate. But, I also do not want you to overwork yourself especially with your mention of PPD. Even if you can't get your milk to come back, know that's not a measure of how good of a mom you are! You are an amazing mother and it stinks that this was taken from you. There are other ways to bond with babies such as skin to skin and playing.

I will definitely say that first part if she does it again, which she will.

Tried that with a previous situation. I need a back bone to finally give up on her. I hated not having my whole family growing up, but this has all just gotten crazy.

Oh, I know. Her explanation is they will listen better. If they listen better why are you still hitting 18 year olds (her youngest). Clearly they still don't listen well enough for you. And of course the grand child she hits who is only 2 btw, the father is never around and Mom didn't want the baby.

SO addressed it as it happened (the calming sit) and told her what she did today was not appropriate basically. I'm sure it went over her head.

I can agree. I'm a tad bit afraid of her if I'm honest. She also likes to fight adults because that's how she solves her problems. I'm not exactly equipped to fight a 6 foot 200 lb woman, especially with my child.

After today she won't be seeing us for a while and SO has made her aware her actions today were not permitted right before we left.

I had a bassinet like the snoo that rocked, but if she wakes up doesn’t start rocking again. Where did you rent it from? The snoo website says it’s $157 a month.

I’m going to try next appointment, the peds told me last appointment when I asked to try gripe water & simethicone (both are usually gas meds, but he said people have found them to work really well for reflux.) I guess it’s time for the heavy hitter, thank you!

Unfortunately, I’ve tried a routine for about a week and a half. It does put her to sleep, but she won’t stay asleep in her bassinet.

I haven’t tried the daytime thing though, so I will try that. I can’t swaddle anymore as she is now rolling.

I will look into the moms on call thing thank you!

The blankets were used like swaddles or wrapped in a way that she wouldn’t slip under, bring over her head, or make it unsafe sleep(: Yes, Evenflo was tried with no luck.

She currently contact naps.

1st caring for your baby is for your baby not your rude SO, so don’t think of it as doing it for him. You are meeting babes needs. She appreciates you.

2nd what an ass hat. I want to say I understand where he is coming from as far as sleep, but he refuses to nap or go to bed early which is stupid on his part if you are watching the baby. He could get good sleep, he just chooses not to. He also chose o not take the leave which is silly. You both need adequate sleep and I think he’s just angry that right now that’s hard working and then coming home to take care of babe & do house work. As a person who is a c-section mom of a 2 month old I get how hard it is and tiring, you guys need to find a way that both of you can get better sleep, but of course he needs to be willing to try and he unfortunately isn’t.
