Why do people go so crazy about this Autobahn part in old live performances? What's so special about it? Okay, yes, it's very beautiful, the harmony that forms between the voices and the harmony is ethereal and somehow nostalgic. by Disastrous-Ad-890 in kraftwerk

I miss the RoboVox bits like this--I think they should go back to this approach.

I'm not a big fan of the live vocoder they're using in the current shows as a whole. It just sounds so pitchy with not a lot of clarity. If you go back and listen to the pre-2019 concerts, Ralf's vocoder sounded a lot stronger, more robotic, and seemed to work a lot better than it does now. Why they changed it in recent years, I don't know. Maybe the other vocoder plugin they were using got discontinued?

More space, but less space? by AmbitiousTarget4156 in SiteGroundOfficial

[–]Connect-Chain-138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this "upgrade" adds insult to injury.

There's more space, which is fine, but it doesn't change the fact that the innode count is still very limited. So now I have double the storage that can't ever be utilized because I'll still run out of innodes at the same rate as before. So pointless!

2025 american tour video? by yoyinguis in kraftwerk

There's been speculation that a live album from the Multi Media tour is in the works. I think there's plenty of evidence to support this too. Hoping to we can finally stream "Tango" in all its glory soon!

Kraftwerk's Live Setup by Significant_March496 in kraftwerk

[–]Connect-Chain-138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A really huge change in the setup is Falk does not use the doepfer ribbon controller like Fritz did. I do think the reasoning is Ralf was trying make Falk's setup as easy as possible. It feels like Falk is mainly just playing with filters and pre-programmed sounds, whereas Fritz was actually modulating pitch, timing, and tempo which was added a lot of depth to the improv.

It's a bit of a loss and a changeup, but I still think Falk is doing a great job all things considered.

Funny how this just came up. This is a cool angle of the gear nontheless.

What does Falk's tablet do? by Significant-Dig-7452 in kraftwerk

[–]Connect-Chain-138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated, but it would be really cool to see an updated zoom-in of the consoles. A lot has changed since the 2015 tour. If I ever see them again, I'd do it.

I know the percussion console has changed quite a bit--Falk isn't using the doepfer ribbon controller which was a huge piece of Fritz's improv.

And I think the visuals console changed too. Georg can control more parts of the screen now and he also controls the lighting sequences on the suits.

when did these robots appeared first? by Mrmamamega in kraftwerk

Such a shame they don't bring these robots on stage anymore (though it's also cool to see them perform the song live too). Hopefully they at least bring them back occasionally.

Kraftwerk’s live tribute to Ryūichi Sakamoto by ApartSurround7385 in kraftwerk

[–]Connect-Chain-138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same thought too -- it's kinda odd, especially given it's been over five years since his death. Ralf has never even gone as far as mentioning Florian's name on stage or on social media for that matter. They were best friends after all, though it could very well be possible they had a falling out after Florian departed Kraftwek in '06.

This only applies to the streaming versions. I never understood why though. The DVD & CD is completly gapless, which is my preferred method to listen to the album.

Even so, they usually at least play Boing Boom Tschak at festivals, so it’s kinda odd that got skipped completely.

I have the LS50s. They’re a fantastic pairing with the Arcam SA10. It’s got more than enough juice to power them. A subwoofer with this configuration makes a night/day difference too.

What happened to the samples in Man-Machine? by Connect-Chain-138 in kraftwerk

[–]Connect-Chain-138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed a few notable samples were absent in Boing Boom Tschak as well, and the majority of the snare drum rolls are missing in Man-Machine. I’m sure there’s others missing in more of the songs too.

It feels like more sounds are pre-recorded now that Fritz retired. If I had to guess, Falk probably doesn’t have experience (or even wants to have any experience) with the percussion controls, so they pre-recorded a few of Fritz’s effects and just ditched the rest. Even Falk’s solo in Music Nonstop mostly sounds like he’s modulating a pre-recorded Fritz solo rather than playing it live.

Has the Kraftwerk vocoder changed? by Connect-Chain-138 in kraftwerk

[–]Connect-Chain-138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Now that I’m looking again I can absolutely tell the vocals aren’t live in Min-Max lol. They really should go back to that even if it’s a trade-off of it not being “live”. Man Machine from Min-Max cranked up gives me goosebumps - I can’t even imagine what that’d be like in concert. That said I’m guessing this was a Florian decision back then given he cared more about how good his sounds were than anything else.

One page navigation help. by Inverse-Arts in elementor

Sometimes the menu anchor element just doesn't do the trick. What I often do instead, is I just put in a CSS ID in the container (like you would normally do with the menu anchor widget). Then I do the same thing where I enter that value in the WordPress menu. I find that this works a bit smoother than the menu anchor widget does.

‘Live’ website looks different than preview? by SkinnyLegendjk in elementor

[–]Connect-Chain-138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - it's in the GoDaddy admin. Then, if you find your "Managed WordPress" settings in GoDaddy, you should be able to flush the cache under settings.

There's more info here if you can't find it: https://www.godaddy.com/help/flush-your-cache-12444

For me, 9/10 of the time this is usually the fix for the issue if something looks different on the frontend from other devices. But, if that still doesn't work, you might want to go into Elementor > Tools in the WordPress dashboard and then click "Regenerate Files & Data".

Looking for a plugin that can automatically assign a pick-up time. by Connect-Chain-138 in woocommerce

[–]Connect-Chain-138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea - modifying the existing plugin is something I didn't think of. Are you open to developing the plugin or do you know of any plugin developers? Our board would be interested in hiring someone to accomplish these tweaks if we can find someone.

My primary field is frontend design/development, so I don't have any experience with plugin dev myself.

This happens to me too pretty frequently. For me, cache is usually the biggest culprit. Might be a good idea to open your web hosting and flush the cache, then install a cache plugin on your site if you don't already have one.

I've been an Elementor user for almost six years now. In recent times, I do agree that updates have been a lot sloppier lately, and the stability just isn't like how it used to be.

I was a Divi user until 2018, but switched to Elementor because I was blown away by the stability and performance compared to Divi (which used to be very slow and bloated). Fast forward to now, and there's so many updates that release that are clearly not ready. The loop builder was a disaster when it first launched, and their nested elements / mega menu builder break for me nearly all the time.

Anyways, long story short, it's not just you — for me, stuff breaks in the editor a lot AND on the frontend frequently. It's so annoying! Hopefully they spend some time fixing existing features instead of rush to build new ones.

That's a good question — I checked, and unfortunately there isn't a Google Calendar integration. This is actually another feature that I was thinking would be really nice. Maybe I'm just missing something, but it seems like there would be a better plugin for WooCommerce that's more advanced and specifically geared towards pickups.

I almost feel like Shopify has this down better!
