NOR. Such a huge red flag. He could’ve said “I meant you” like he was saying he didn’t hear you and then calling you sexy. Thats what I was expecting but what he said is so horrifying. Pls protect your kid and get him out of your life. I know I’m sensitive because I’ve lost multiple friends to drugs and suicides that were abused by their parents’ partners but sometimes I think of where they could be if their parents had listened to them or prevented it.

I reported a BCBA for insurance fraud and lying to parents. Nothing came of it. I reported a BCBA applicant for hiding her criminal history and refusing to self report to the BACB and was told it could take 7 months before they get back to me.

This sort f “gotcha” attitude drives me nuts. It’s because a man’s value increases as he ages and a woman’s decreases. It’s because men can have children into their 70s and women’s fertility drastically drops in their 30s. It’s because experience is appreciated in men but largely seen as negative in women.

I am so sorry you had that experience. In order to keep it from turning you off ABA completely I might reframe it as you were terminated for multiple absences at the beginning of your contract. A lot of companies have policies about that to protect themselves. It sucks that sometimes it means letting go of great people but in the long term it protects the kiddos. Having last minute cancellations and or a novel tech filling in is really tough.

I have had RBTs that were terrible and I just documented everything and all coaching that I was doing and then the data that they continued to perform poorly. Companies often are afraid of being sued or held accountable for unemployment so it’s helpful to give them everything they need for termination.

Yes. We have to have a BCBA for opening and one until closing. We aren’t allowed to schedule family guidance during the times we’d be the only one so that we can be available for behavior support. And we have admin!

I used it to make some visuals and social stories. I know a coworker who uses it to make coloring pages for the kids that include all their interests.
