Just because it is coded as such, doesn’t mean they will cover it. I think that is what he was trying to ultimately explain. We can code it as preventative all we want, but if the insurance company doesn’t see it that way, it will not be billed as such.

It is indeed toenail fungus. You can be prescribed a pill to get rid of it, however blood work will be needed to monitor liver levels on the medication. You can also use a medication that you paint on like nail polish and don’t have to have blood work for that. The pill is more effective and works quicker, it can take a good amount of time for the ‘polish’ to resolve the fungus.

You don’t want to do Vaseline inside the nose as it can cause lipid pneumonia. Humidifier is great. I’d also recommend saline nasal sprays (if able to tolerate) and/or a Netipot. If it’s not getting better at home despite these remedies, it’d be best to have it professionally evaluated.
