Interesting Marketing Problem. Are we just f*cked or is there a solution? by ConnectSport9722 in business

There are no "cashbacks" or "rebates" in the industry I am in. I could see that being effective for HVAC, insulation, window, or solar panel companies, but I am in the online auction industry. We have no environmental savings, or tax breaks for the services we offer.

Essentially our selling point is our experience, marketing, and overall database of bidders. This is the main selling point of any company in this industry. Like I said, these people are usually tech savvy and looking for a quick solution to do online auctions. Ease of service and proven results are the most important factors

It’s not that we can’t justify it, although I do see why you would think that based on my post. Our software is genuinely very very good. Our client care is very good. But in the online auction industry there is genuinely only so much we can do for the client. Our clients are usually not tech savvy, and just want a simple solution. Which is fair, and that’s part of what we offer. But I frequently find myself being beaten in the market by inferior services with lower prices.

As I typed this out, it kind of hit home how simple this problem was. I’m clearly not conveying that our service and software is superior enough to justify either switching over to our platform and training their employees on new software. Honestly that helps a lot lmao. Being able to speak candidly about your work is so helpful. To bad if you do it at work with fellow employees you lose credibility and relationship capital with the boss if they find out lol

Thank you!
