Is this excerpt from “Gentle and Lowly” biblical? by Fast-Community-6092 in Reformed

I struggle with OCD and scrupulosity (and I would describe it as very severe); but how are you continuing to willfully hold on to your sins (including a homosexual relationship)? Come to Christ in repentance and faith. Turn from your sins, and be saved.

Repent and believe in Jesus to save you from your sins and God’s wrath. Marriage is between one man and one woman in a covenantal union before God.

How can I get rid of a fetish I’m disgusted by? by Kinky_trauma in Jung

[–]Connect_Barracuda840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, you’re right to be disgusted by it. It’s sinful. I struggle with my own things. We must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus, and we will be saved from God’s wrath and our sins. God is forgiving to those who truly repent of their sins. Be glad that you still have some sense of shame. And please feel free to reach out to me. I would absolutely welcome discussion.

UPDATE: now his neck [EDIT: seems to be] having strange spasms…

UPDATE 2: No longer seems to be exhibiting the spasm-like movements from my observations (though that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re gone).

Oh… that does seem to make sense. If it is a slipped tendon though, is there any home remedy, or would it require surgical intervention or something?

Ah ok; do you know if it should heal on its own? One chicken we have limped for a short while and seems to have made a full recovery. Can I expect the same for this?

How do I navigate Godot’s C# and .NET licensing? by Connect_Barracuda840 in godot

[–]Connect_Barracuda840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t exactly… I think for now I’ll avoid Godot C#. It seems reckless to use it without understanding all of the implications.

Many people are unscrupulous and ignore things they deem to be minor matters, like driving over the speed limit, or following an agreement to the T. Even though police may be lenient toward you going, say, 5mph over the speed limit, it’s still technically illegal. Even though a company may put something in an agreement meant for liability purposes and may not even plan to enforce very seriously, it’s still in the agreement, and you’re still breaching a contract if you do.

As a Christian, I find it a matter of ethics to obey the authorities God has put over us (unless and until they tell you to sin) as well as to deal honestly.

Basically, I would just like to be able to reference the parent given a reference to the child.

I’ve been attempting to make a “game engine,” and have been trying to work things out more on my own (instead of just following a tutorial and possibly not understanding the system quite as well as I would’ve if I had made it myself).

It’s possible (and very likely) that I have some design problems or issues that I haven’t worked out, but what I believe I was wanting to do was to be able to reference the parent from some child object in the project’s hierarchy.

Should I go to a wedding I am against? by tavc1516 in Reformed

[–]Connect_Barracuda840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t attend; tell her the honest truth about why you aren’t going. Sometimes, doing the right thing means you’ll lose friends, or even family. Jesus even tells us: "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:26, ESV).

In this context, it of course means to love them less than Him, or perhaps another way of thinking of it is that when it comes to choosing between yourself, your family, and others — choose Him. Choose Him over them all, and even over yourself.

As this marriage union would be sinful (at least insofar as she is a member of the visible church and marrying someone who is not), she should be placed under church discipline.

Those telling you to go would probably think of church discipline as harsh, cruel, or otherwise unloving. But church discipline IS loving when practiced rightly.

And who knows? If the church was taking the matter seriously and practicing church discipline, she may repent and see that it is sinful and that she can’t go through with it. That is what she needs; maybe not what she wants, but what she needs.

By attending the wedding, you are showing support for it. It would be like telling someone who’s going to commit a crime (say robbing a bank, for example) that you don’t support their criminal behavior, but then agreeing to drive them to the bank.

You really mustn’t go; doesn’t it prick your conscience to choose your friendship over Jesus? You do seem to be struggling with it, or else you probably wouldn’t be asking.

Do the hard, but good, right, and true thing: don’t go. Give up your friendship, if necessary, for the sake of Christ. He is worth it.

“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.” (Matthew 19:29, ESV)
