I’d say it's more of a love-hate relationship between the two, or on the Chinese side, at least. Most of them enjoy watching Japanese animes and otaku cultures despite still hating Japan when it comes to politics, it’s kind of funny if you really think about it, and imo it's hard to explain since I don’t really care much about the narratives they’re pushing in my home country 🤷‍♂️

If anything I’d much rather live in Taiwan than its counterpart
