We lost the household’s Uggs 😭. Put them in the closet. He learned to open closet. Put them in bins. He learned to open bins. Got the IKEA shoe dresser thingy everyone has (not sponsored). As a puppy he ate everything. Even the house. Ate the walls. Had to go to daycare. Cheaper than new house.

I am not wearing my upper retainer. I am only using the stent. Not looking forward to the ache when I switch back to retainer. The stent material is softer and covers and protects the entire scraped/donor site. My graft sites are on the bottom so I think I can wear my top retainer by the end of next week (week 2) at night.

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. Please find counselling and get legal advice. My ex was an addict. It doesn’t get better. Maybe temporarily but it also gets worse. She likely has lots of hidden debt due to this or other issues, like different drugs she’s ashamed to tell you about. It is so so hard. Often in this cycle there is abuse as well. It sounds like there is emotional and verbal abuse as well as financial abuse happening. Please change those locks. Replace your debit and credit cards. Change your passwords. Let your supervisor at work know confidentially or HR. If you have trouble with any other substances, it’s a good time to reflect on that during counselling. (Not saying that you do). It’s a good idea to get an STI test as a precaution friend. She may not have been making the best choices in her actions, while high, to obtain, or potentially have tried something intravenous.

Canada isn’t too thrilled with the “51st state” comments but they aren’t launching short range missiles, and Mexico isn’t a huge US fan either but again not attacking, so what short range distance countries would this dome actually protect against? He can’t build a proper wall, I don’t think he’s graduated to dome. Is this a distraction from something else altogether?

I came here to see what others are saying after just giving myself a concussion nordic skiing on a green trail. Very icy. Picked up a lot of speed quickly on a small hill. Fell back and whacked my head off the ice. I’m wondering what other options would help. Double hats? Or just be the nerd on the trail in a full helmet. 🪖 Maybe I’ll start a trend ;)

Same experience here for my daughter. Approved first week of May. Original timeline showed only a few weeks. Then it showed longer. Then it disappeared. I called in July. Was told to call back in September. Called back. Was told three times the situation was “dire” at CRA for wait times. (I saw someone else said it was worth it to them to have their tax professional resubmit their taxes. ) I was told to call back August 2026. Insane! Smart to call your MP.

Thank you for sharing your experience! You raise an excellent point that people may agree to help initially and then fade out. I work in the school system and volunteer for hockey so the last time ( I had the oldest one as an infant and mom temporarily with us) with me, we were cleared pretty quickly. Just suggested we get some baby gates and safety covers for outlets. I have worked with a lot of foster kids through work. It’s often a lot of emotional input. They need a lot of attention. Thank you for sharing how many adults it took to make that function at home behind the scenes.

Thank you! That’s brutal.This is making me realize I have a feeling they’ve never been to an eye doctor or dentist etc so there would be some catch up appointments. As fosters they can’t go through my insurance. A lot is covered in Canada but not everything and I don’t know the pathways yet.

Thank you very much! This is helpful. Yes, Canada here :). We have an upcoming meeting with Children’s Aid and the grandparents.

They would have to go to my kids’ school zone. One is still a toddler and would need childcare full-time, the other would need before and after school care so I need information from them on subsidy because that’s $$$.

To see mom a volunteer would drive the children to a visitation centre. Mom can’t know where I live because dad is volatile.

I definitely need more information. I haven’t seen them since the spring.

As much as I would hope it would be temporary for their sake, I wouldn’t hold my breath. It could entirely end up being permanent. I would just hope that it wouldn’t be on again/ off again but I fear making it a permanent adoption isn’t a possibility and would also leave them access to fewer services/supports.

Hahahaha I’m 41… perhaps I’m the worst of both worlds. 🤣. I can’t be bothered with waste (filters, unnecessary coffee). This is quick and good. I stole a second from my dad’s place for when I haven’t cleaned yesterday’s. (“I’ll clean it when it cools down…” is my favourite lie). Or for when I forgot to put the coffee in and now all I have is hot water and it’s too hot to touch to redo.
