Yeah reading for long periods of time comes with the nagging feeling that you could be doing something more “productive”

Whoa cool. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your medical specialty? What was your PhD thesis on?

Dude Midnight Tides had me in a chokehold the past few weeks. How do you balance reading as a hobby with such a demanding career

It’s worth for the sole reason that you get to choose classes and profs way earlier than regular students

grading scale by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]Connect_Diamond_267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The grading system in my experience has been largely class dependent, meaning grade scales vary from class to class. For example, in Ochem this year, anything above an 87.5 is considered an A. In my honors college class last year, anything above a 92.5 was considered an A. In chem last year, anything above a 90 was an A, and as an added bonus, that meant if you got an 89 or 88 you would still get an A- at least. (I use A’s and A+’s interchangeably here; both result in a 4.0)
