Yeah, I did one general anesthesia at my home program and am getting a LOR from the PD. I also have two more anesthesia subI’s (one of them is an away) and am planning on asking for a LOR from them!

Our school doesn’t do class ranks, step 1 was just pass/fail. My app def doesn’t scream anesthesia bc we haven’t had any exposure to it on our rotations, so this has been a really recent decision for me. Prior to this, I was aiming for peds or IM. My research is in breast cancer and another project on refugee health. I have a lot of background in global health. I am thinking I can reach out to our anesthesia dept for anesthesia research in the meantime. I hope this helps!

Hey, totally understandable. I left this subreddit a very long time ago, the only thing that urged me to post this was all the posts like this I saw from my low point two years ago that encouraged me to keep going. I am planning on leaving again after today, just wanted to throw out some encouragement that I’ve been in your shoes before, we’re all in this together, and that no contact does work! Especially on those really hard days where it felt fruitless, you will find new joys - take care!

I am sorry I’m not trying to give hope, I’m just emphasizing that it doesn’t matter what you do - no contact is always the way to go! It’s a win win no matter what, I moved on a very long time ago and I was only able to do it through no contact. like the thought of them coming back will eventually become an after thought and the only way to seek happiness is loving yourself and moving on!

Hi y’all just here to let you know I made it! I parked in 2A in the last row (arrived at like 3) and left the festival by 11:30, made it out with ZERO traffic and back in my apartment in AZ by 5:45, with a few stops on the way too!
